Following up on a previous post - if I arrive at LAX at 9 am on a Monday morning, and have a shuttle/car service arranged to pick me up - how long would the commute take to Courtyard by Marriott, theme park entrance?

Likewise, returning to LAX on Friday morning for a 9:30 am international flight - what time would I need to leave the hotel to check-in at airport by 7:30 am? Would I need to arrive at LAX earlier, considering it's so big?

If we push the return day to Saturday vs Friday - would it be an easier commute considering it's the weekend and presumably rush hour traffic wouldn't be as bad?

Go to the app and set your arrival and departure dates and then select leave later rather than leave now. It will allow you to pick your day and time. Won’t let you forecast a month from now but you can look at this Friday and Monday to get an idea.

Per some Google searches, looks like it'll take 37 mins from LAX. I would pad that with extra time to account for traffic/delays/detours, etc.

I departed LAX last year on a Saturday afternoon (for a non-Disney trip) and made sure to arrive 2 hours early. Was plenty of time, but obviously no guarantees of quick moving lines.

Honestly, one accident can destroy your travel estimate. I Iive fairly close to LA but allow an hour to LAX, I would make it 1.5 hours minimum from Orange County. Security lines at LAX are a mess, Mon-SUn, after 7 am. Just get there super early and enjoy breakfast!

Also if you have a rental car, returning it at LAX can take a long time. The agencies are far from LAX property, up to say a ten minute drive to enter the horseshoe road at LAX, and then it has taken me up to 40 minutes to get from terminal 1 to terminal 7 on the bus.

When you are returning to LAX, it will be rush hour. I don’t know what that means in LA these days but I would allow a LOT of time and would leave no later than 6 am. Maybe earlier.

To put a finer point on it, in 30+ years of air travel all over the world, I have missed flights only at LAX. That was long ago, and a rental car was involved each time. I now try to avoid renting a car at LAX if at all possible or I allow an hour extra. It is a very outdated and challenging airport.

We are not renting a ca, we will use a shuttle/car service I think. I plugged in the flight info and it said they’d pick us up at the hotel at 5:15 Am for a 9:30 flight. I think that should be good

No car rental to deal with and likely only carry on luggage so hopefully that would help a little

The difference in airfare between SNA and LAX is $1400… we are just going to have to suck it up for those savings!! I’m not thrilled about it, but that difference pays for the hotel.
