Hi, we will take DME to get to the POLY in August. For those of you who have used DME, I was just wondering how long it took you to get to your resort after landing? We are due to land just after 1:00 pm on a Friday. I am trying to figure out if we should skip the parks that day and just hangout at the resort and do some sort if dinner show in the evening.

Thanks!

depends on when your bus is leaving the airport.
one time we waited no longer than 3 minutes between checking in at the desk and leaving airport. The next time we wait something like 30 minutes.

from there its about 30 minutes to the first resort so it depends on which stop you are. All in all though it does feel quick because we are nautrally anxious and excited.

You'd probably get to the resort around "2-ish" since it's in the MK area and the furthest. Could be a little bit sooner, or later. Your luggage will arrive separately and will be put in your room later. When I used the service in August, I was able to check in early. I went to lunch and when I returned, my suitcases were already in my room. It could be later though, so plan accordingly.

I have read elsewhere that the average time is 70 minutes from the time you get off the plane till you arrive at your resort. It was about an hour for us last July. If you already have a ticket for the parks that day, it is still early enough to enjoy the parks. A few years ago we arrived at the MK just in time for the afternoon parade and got wonderful seats right near the train station. We were able to do several attractions in MK and even stayed for Spectro and Wishes. The only problem was the kids were getting really tired at that point because we gotten up very early that morning.

I'm debating whether to use ME or not for our next trip. We used ME the last two times we visited WDW (and stayed at DVCs) and I hated wasting all the time first getting in line to check in at the ME desk (never less than 15-20 minutes for us), then waiting in line for the bus (never less than 15 minutes for us), then waiting for the bus to stop by all these other resorts before reaching ours (the last time our bus stopped at Carribean Beach, then Swan, Dolphin, Yacht Club, then Beach Club - our destination). It used to be so much faster when we rented a car via National because we can bypass the counter and head straight to the car.

For this next trip we'll be staying at the Poly (for the first time). Could someone who recently took ME from the airport to Poly tell me how many other stops were made (and to which resorts) before arriving at Poly?

We took the ME from MCO to the Poly on 4/23. We were the second stop, after the Contemporary. Once we boarded the buses the trip did not take long at all.
The check in lines for ME were really long however, about 25 minutes just to check in. It was another 35 minutes waiting for the bus. So for us, it was about an hour after arriving before we left the airport to head to WDW.
We flew on a Sunday and landed at MCO at 11:37 AM
It also took us a long time to check in at the Poly. The CM told us it was one of the busiest check in days they had had in a long while. It was the first day of Regular Season, and this may have had something to do with it.
When we used DME in October, our waits to check in and then to actually board the bus were much shorter!

On Monday we landed at MCO at 0945 and got to ASMo at 1100. Our luggage, however, didn't make it to the room until after 8 p.m.
