I was checking out some things on the OLP transportation wizard and it says its about 45 minutes from GF to Epcot and only 35 to Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. Does it really take that long? I always felt that Epcot was quicker than the other two parks, I guess because the monorail seems easier.

I'm just wondering if anyone had practical experience. I'm trying to figure out how early we are going to need to leave for rope drop and ADRs.

they had to slow down the monorail - so it could be 45 minutes. say 15 minutes to get to the TTC - it has to stop at MK (always a long stop) then the CR/BLT - then you might have to wait for the Epcot monorail that would easily be 10 to 15 minutes, then going to Epcot 15 minutes.

the other two parks were longer - but they changed the bus schedule - CR/BLT now shares with WL/VWL - while Polyn and GF shares - before then CR/BLT shared with Polyn and GF - and boy it would take 30 minutes to even get started to the parks.

The problem with GF to Epcot is you need to take two monorails to get there (resort monorail to TTC, then changing to Epcot monorail). Transportation time depends mostly on how long you have to wait. You could wait 1 minute or 20 minutes for a bus. Typically wait less than 10 minutes for a monorail in our experience.

Never hurts to be early. For buses, our rule of thumb is to be at the bus stop an hour before park opening (note rope drop can be 5-15 minutes before official park opening), always get there in plenty of time.
