I'm new here so if this has been asked forgive me.

What is the travel time from the airport to the Polynesian hotel?
We arrive on Southwest Nov. 30 at noon. Is it reasonable to think that I can get to the Poly., check in, and into the Magic Kingdom for my 6 year old nephews Pirate Makeover appt @ 4:00???? or should I change the appt. time (if possible) to another day?
I don't know what I was thinking when I booked this... :confused3
Thanks!!

I think this is very reasonable. How ar eyou getting to the hotel - ME, rental car or car service? Barring any flight delays, you ought to be at your hotel by 2pm or so.

Plan on taking the disney express. We have usually rented a car, so I have no idea about this shuttle.
Do you know how often it runs and how long the drive is?
Thanks!

Using DME, the time it takes from the time you step off the plane until you step into the lobby of the resort is usually between 60 and 90 minutes.

I'm assuming that you have made your DME reservation at this point. So...about 5 weeks before you are to leave, Disney will send you a DME info packet, with directions, luggage tags and bus vouchers. It should take less than 90 mins from the time you get off your plane to the resort. Most of my trips have been in the 70 min range.
The buses run continually, based on need. You could get right onto a bus, or you could have a 15 min or so wait for one to come along...all depends on the luck of the draw so to speak.
This is the general how-to....get off the plane, take the shuttle tram to the main terminal go down to level 1, Side B of MCO, head to DME checkin counter, get checked in (if you're not sent directly to the bus lines), go to bus line, get on bus, drive to resorts.
THe drive to the first resort is usually about 30 mins....depending on which stop you are (could be 3 or 4), it will take between 30-50 mins on the bus.
WE usually plan on a total of 70 mins from plane to resort.

Okay so I will plan on 90 mins.
Has anyone ever done this and made it to a makeover...BBB or Pirate.
I hate to postpone the Pirate makeover as his twin sister is scheduled at the BBB at 6:00. Kinda hoping they could get it done on the same day.
thoughts???

also, my flight is a direct flight so I don't anticipate a plane delay....yeah right...... :-)

DME should get you to POLY by 1:30. Even if your fligh is delayed (weather) you should get to POLY by 2:30 or 3:00. Make sure your carryon incldes whatever you'll need at the MK. Assume DME will deliver your bags while you're at the MK.

Boat and monorail service to the MK is pretty good. I might have a different answer if you weren't staying at a monorail resort.
