Time for Bigger TV's?

Come on, Jim, you have to give the Saints a little credit. It looked like it was a pretty good up-and-down game. NOLA needs a little bit of good for a change.
Very true. It WAS a good game and the Saints deserved the win. I'm just a long suffering Philadelphia Sports Fan :sad2: I'll be rooting for the Saints to beat Da Bears next week. Go Saints!

Jim

Now WHY would anyone leave the TV on all day with no one there????? That's just not environmentally responsible! I suppose they leave the lights on too? Never heard of that.

I'm not a DVC member yet, but I've read that some people leave their TV on to make potential thieves think that someone is in the room.

Seems like a waste of electricity if you ask me. Just put your valuables in the safe.:thumbsup2

I just realized this week that we are arriving on Super Bowl sunday and the Eagles are still in the playoff hunt at this point, so my vote is that the TVs in OKW be upgraded to at LEAST 42" plasmas before February 4th

Your wish has been granted... well sort of... ESPN Club has plenty of 42" screens and you know that will be a great place to watch whoever ends up in the game...

On the topic at hand, worrying about the dues increase for a television replacement is kind of silly IMHO. The management company knows that the TV's are going to have to be replaced at least twice during the 45 years (realistically 3 or 4 times) so I'm sure that it has already been budgeted in just like new carpet and beds etc...

When the time comes to replace the televisions I'm sure they will look at the available technology and what would be most affordable and we will probably get 27" tubes because they won't want the added expense of changing the furniture.

Personally I don't really care about the size of the TV as much as I do the lack of programming, we really could do better in that area...

Oh, come on! You don't have to see Stacey to know that she is on... that perky voice is all it takes! And wouldn't you rather be out doing the top seven than watching her do them????

I just had a pina colosus here at Boardwalk's Leaping Horse Libations they now have ,as of yesterday , new 37 inch high def tvs ( not connected to hd though ) at the bar. l'll see if anything is being replaced anywhere else I.e. the rooms. I used my phone to do this.sorry for how it might come out

1) Bigger HD TV's would be nice.
2) How much of a dues increases will you go along with for these improvements?
3) I would rather have smaller dues than bigger TV's.

The only hotels that have 19 in TV's at WDW is DVC's and the value resorts.

Why not just rip out the pools too it will make our fees go down a lot more?

We can change bed sheets once a month it will make our fees go down?:scared1:

Lets just cut all maintenence and lower our fees....

Lets have a classy Timeshare, not a value resort!:teacher:

I have to agree. If we are paying the maintenance fees we are paying, why can we only settle for 19" TVs :happytv: . I don't necessarily want the wall TVs either but we could at least get 27" or 36" TVs in the villas.

I guess I'm in the "wish we had a bigger TV" camp. I want to snicker everytime I see that nice entertainment center in the living room with that teeny, tiny, 19" TV. It just looks so out of place. I think they should, at least, buy TVs that fit their furniture (27"??), and I wonder why they didn't do that originally, especially considering that they did buy larger TVs for other resorts.

I'm in the camp of would love a bigger TV however it would not be worth a dues increase for me.

I think it will be very interesting to see what size and type of TV they put in the AKV's.

*sob* Unfortunately, you won't have to worry about the Eagles in the Super Bowl this year...

Jim (brokenhearted in Philly):sad2:

Right there with you Jim... 23 years and counting since a championship in this city.

Only 4 weeks until pitchers and catchers report for spring training, though... hope springs eternal.

On the plus side, my brother in law who is coming with us is a huge Colts fan, so at least we have one horse in the race at our villa. I'll probably be rooting for the Colts to win... Manning deserves to have a ring, especially if he plays like he did in the second half last night.

I would like bigger TV's. We are leave TV's on for background noise kind of people and are really never in a room with our the TV being on. DH is worse than me though. I think the 19 inch TV's look kind of cheap. Maybe they will replace them when they replace the furniture? I believe the POLY has the new bigger, hang on the wall TV's. I think the CR does too.

BTW, we never leave a TV run all day when we are not in the room. I do leave one light on though, I hate coming back to a totally dark room. I probally get that from my mother though. She was a "every light in the house on" woman. My father used to come home from work and walk around shutting off lights in empty rooms. They would all be back on 30 minutes later. I don't know why the poor man even bothered.

Because most people now have flat screen and over size lcds, I would like to see more up dated tvs. It's a let down with what is at the resorts now. I don't go to disney to watch tv, but when I get back to my room a nice modern tv would not be a bad thing.
