Ok I just got back from VWL a week ago. One of the things I noticed was the TV's in the hotel seemed twice as big as the ones in DVC.
:happytv: :happytv: :happytv: :happytv: :happytv:

Did anyone else ever notice that?

I know, I know... who goes on vacation to watch TV.
I know I know.. who wants their fees to go up.

But it seems like we could do a litttle better than 19in (or whatever they are). It just looks cheap.

Does anyone else know the sizes of TV's for each resort?
Does this bother anyone else? It just looks cheap have a 19in. Cool hotels have large flat screens. :confused3

Help me out here :happytv: :happytv: :happytv: :happytv: :happytv:

Studios are getting DVD players, I'm happy about that! I imagine the TVs will be upgraded eventually. They are concentrating on sofa beds right now, I think...people really like the ones without the bars.

No, the TV's don't bother me, but our TV at home is over 20 years old.

Bobbi:)

I don't need a bigger tv. I don't go to WDW to watch TV:goodvibes . What they have is just fine with us.:cool1:

A flatscreen would be nice. That way it could be centered on the wall so everyone could watch easily. VWL studios dont have any way to adjust the tv.

I notice. But we have a 43 inch HD DLP at home and it is a rough adjustment. It is nice in the evening when the kids are in bed to watch a little TV on vacation. I would appreciate a larger screen but think the sofa beds should come first.

Sure I notice, I have a 50 inch HD DLP in my family room, a 60 inch flat screen plasma in my game room and a 100 Stewart screen in my home theater.

On vacation we don't watch much TV so no it doesn't bother me and I wouldn't want a dues increase to cover it.

Now a DVR to record our favorite shows when we are out and about to watch at our leisure at night..........

We don't care because the rooms are fairly small and we don't get hooked on watching (except the top 7 attractions). While ours at home is a 27 inch our vacation home has a 35 inch which we love. Funny but the renters are always complaining that the TV in the vacation house is just too small and they want a large plasma (at the beach???). Go outside and enjoy yourselves!!!:happytv: :happytv: :happytv:

I do not want any bigger tv , any flat screen , any High Def tv's at all UNLESS they are going to hook them up to a HD source to get any benefit from it. Without having it connected to a HD source it looks worse than a regular tv.

But actually I would like new tv's but I also don't want higher fees so keep em as they are!

I watch tv on a 55 inch High Def with 17 channels of HD available.

So true. But I think they could go larger then the current 19" (or whatever it is) and still have a decent picture.

Actually at VB is where we noticed it the most. We were doing a bit more relaxing around the resort/room then we would have done in WDW and missed the larger screen HD.

Doesn't bother me a bit...but then again, we are not tv people at all. One TV in the house that gets used for a total of 5 hours per week (just the news for me and DH and the kids get their movie night on Friday) and it is maybe 20" or so?!? Not even sure as to what the standard sizes are....

Wow--50" of screen? I didn't know anyone really used a screen that big.

We still have a 27 inch at home so we don't need or expect anything big, but we did stay at WL last year in one of the newly renovated rooms with a big new flat screen TV. I have to admit it was nice. We knew when we decided to buy DVC that we were leaving those nice new TVs behind. But as others have said - we don't go to WDW to watch TV.

I don't think I want my dues to go up again to pay for these new expensive TV. We'd pay for them, folks, no one else.

Something will have to be done eventually, as the analog picture will be replaced by a digital signal in the coming years (don't remember the date; but they keep changing it so a absolute date might not work in any case). At the least, a converter will have to be added to the old analog sets, but probably, new sets will replace the old that will be digital capable. Also remember that the sets, will in all likelihood be restricted to a size that will fit in the furniture that the rooms contain (in certain instances anyway, i.e. the studio's dressor drawers/t.v. cabinet.) Time will tell.

Since many people just leave the TV's on all day long while at the parks, LCD televisions would save $ on both electricity and longevity. Our dues should go down in the long run from a switch not up.

I have a 98" projection screen at home so I feel the pain.

The only tv I watch at WDW is the weather channel in the morning so I have some idea of how to dress for the day. A 19 inch works fine for that purpose so I don't care if the tvs are ever updated or not.

Now WHY would anyone leave the TV on all day with no one there????? That's just not environmentally responsible! I suppose they leave the lights on too? Never heard of that.

Same here. Weather channel & morning news. Really listen to it more than watch it.

I watch the DVC channel over and over again and it always make me so happy about my DVC. It would certainly look better on a 42in flat screen!!
