Hi! I'm a newbie here and am planning a trip for June 9-15. Our flight lands in Orlando at 1:30 pm and we're using the Magical Express. How long do you think it would be until we get to our resort, All Star Movies? We think the best plan for that first afternoon is DTD. I'm not sure what a safe time to make ADR for dinner would be.

The last time we were there, I'd say it was about 45 mins from getting off the plane to checking in at the resort. It was a breeze going through the Magical Express line and we boarded right onto a bus. I have read that some have waited in line as a bus left and had to wait for another one to arrive.

For us, the flight is only 1 1/2 hours. Our flight left at 7am (central) and we were checking in at 10:30 am (eastern). It was great! And our room was ready. We hit the parks running.

Hi again,

I'm very happy that the above poster made it in 45 minutes...most reports here on the DIS say it takes 60-90 minutes from the time your plane arrives at the gate until the time you are walking into your resort.

WELCOME to the DIS!:welcome:

I agree that it is generally 60-90 minutes, so many variables, bus just left, crowds, etc. Ad far as ding reservation, I would shoot 6:30 to be safe, realizing you have to GET to dtd!
Have a GREAT time!!!!:cheer2:

Hi! Welcome!

I would definitely allot at least 2-2.5 hours just in case! Then, you want to get in your room and get your bearings, and then you have to get to DTD, which may take about a half hour (worst case, of course.) Itll be less stressful.

I think our trip from getting off the plane to pulling into ASSp was 65 mins (and this was Dec 23rd). We too come in the early afternoon and were able to get right into our room. We grabbed a bite in the food court and went to DTD for awhile before our 7:45 ARD at CM.

It took us about 2 hrs in January. We arrived via Southwest about the same time you will be. We had to wait in line to give them our papers, then we had to wait what seemed like forever for the bus. I had taken it back in August, and it was super fast. We must have just arrived when everyone else was arriving. :scared1:

It took us 2 hours to get to WL in December, BUT we picked up our luggage and brought it to the bus ourselves because it was evening and we did not want to risk it not showing up until after 10:00 p.m., or being held until morning. I think a lot of it is luck. If you happen to get to the ME bus as it is getting ready to leave you can get there pretty quick. We got to the ME bus right when it got there and had to sit on it quite a while before it left.

On our last trip we waited in the ME line for a bus for about 20-30 mins - we had just missed the last bus. Then we sat on our bus for another 30-40 mins. It's about a 30 min ride to the resort.

So - all together it took us 90 minutes.

I now know that if we are the first people on the bus, we should get our seats and then one of us should get off with DD and walk around outside. It was not an easy wait for an 8.5 month old.
