Thanks
I like this one too
presenting it every year has not only become a tradition on the DIS..it has also become a tradition at my house. After we decorate the tree (AND TRIPLE CHECK THE SUPPORT WIRE) I read the story for my family. My kids get a big kick out of recreating their parts during the reading. My wife doesnt, she still cringes when I describe the carnage.
As I remember the fall happened Christmas 1999, the Radko ornaments were marked with the year 2000 on them. (remember Y2K, ha ha ha) That is why they were so hard to find. After I posted the story on the DIS, fellow DISers were very helpful in getting me information on where I could find replacements. I think a DISer supplied a web site and I was able to order new ones. (DISers come through again..thanks) (they saved me a lifetime of misery)
We glued some of the dough ornaments back together. The Lenox ornaments were too far-gone, they were dated and many years old which made them irreplaceable. We keep the munchkin head in a wine glass in our china cabinet for all to see.
Merry Christmas
