Welcome back! Looking forward to the pics; what Canon did you get?

So glad you were able to have, yet another, fabulous family get away. Your kids are blessed with such wonderful parents who provide them with so many experiences!!

I was listening to the podcast last night and heard them talking about your evil bus driver... and they mentioned your story. You are becoming a Podcast superstar!!;) Still can't believe Disney did nothing about getting that guy off the road!

Welcome home! Let's get this school year in the books!!

Hi Lesley,

All caught up after spending all of my Sunday afternoon in the UK reading your trippies from last year. Sounds like you had a great Easter break and I'm looking forward to hearing all about it.

Ignore my ticker, i must get it changed!!, we are going to Rhodes in Greece this Summer and then back to Disney Aug 2011, UK prices to Amercia this year are so so expensive. So looking forward to getting my Disney fix this year with you guys

Sarah

Glad u had a nice time. Can't wait to see some pics :surfweb:

Sorry about the sunburns, but I am glad you had great weather at Kiawah. I look forward to your Spring break pictures.

Was just going to mention this as well!

Glad to hear you had a great trip...look forward to hearing more!:goodvibes

Welcome Home to your entire GANG!!!! YUCK about the rock slide, but so glad you were able to go make more wonderful memories together this week on Spring Break! Tom is an accountant for CBT, so this time of year is impossible for him to break away for a trip--so Megs and I just found some fun around town! :)

We have just started looking into Grand Haven....sounds like a VERY doable long weekend trip. Is there anywhere you recommend staying??? I would love your advice!

I will double check with Tom on the exact route and tricks he uses to get us there in such a short amount of time. Seriously, we never feel like it takes TOO long to get there. Okay.....let me amend that.....obviously it feels like forever when you are so excited to get "home," but I think you know what I mean....the drive never REALLY seems that bad once you get over the anticipation of just being THERE!!!!! ;)

Welcome back! Glad to hear you had fabulous weather on the coast of South Carolina! Such a shame about the rock slide detour and the sunburns, though.

Hi Lesley,

I am finally jumping aboard and catching up. The plans look great for the upcoming trip. The kids will be so excited about the nick hotel and can't wait to see the pictures of their faces. Yes, it was a fantastic week. Can't wait for Mary Poppins, the kids are excited too. Yes, girls weekend will be FABULOUS!!!

So, as you know we went to Kiawah Island South Carolina with my parents for Spring Break and had a fabulous time. I took over 300 pics so I narrowed it down to a few here.
Here is Luke on Easter morning getting his Club Penguin themed Easter basket:
Kiawah048.jpg

Kiawah is such a beautiful island and they have great entertainment. The day we got there they had inflatables set up and a kids concert and free face painting, etc. The next night (on Easter Sunday) they had a kids concert, each kid got to go up on stage with their age group. Luke's group got to do the "boomwackers" for their song:

(he is towards the middle next to the lady in black).
Lauren's group got to do maraccas:

My beautiful girl:

Who........ still takes after her father : )
Kiawah095.jpg

One night we drove out to a harbor area to see the sunset:

Another day (the day after our sunburns so we could give our bodies a break) we headed into Charleston for the day. We found a BEAUTIFUL restaraunt with EXCELLENT food that I highly recommend called "Poogan's Porch" Here are Tim and Luke in the restaraunt:
Kiawah121.jpg

We enjoyed the entire day in Charleston, shopping around, visiting the graveyards and taking a horse drawn carriage tour (that got a little too graphic about violence, torture and hangings that I wish the kids didn't have to hear) but other than that it was good.
The great thing about Kiawah (and these pictures don't even remotely do it justice) is the overall beauty of the island. It isn't built up, it is a remote island and it has wonderful bike paths, we spent every day taking long bike rides around the island:
Kiawah305.jpg

The kids loved it because we were only a 5 minute bike ride from Scoopers (the ice cream place):
Kiawah260.jpg

The beach is just beautiful, and flat enough that you can ride your bikes on it, riding your bike on the beach is just a great feeling!
Here is my favorite beach pic of the kids:
Kiawah318.jpg

That was taken in the middle of the day, the beaches are never crowded, just LOVE that!
One of the days "camp Kiawah" did kid t-shirt tye dying and it was only $15.00 for the shirts, the kids had so much fun doing it. Here they are showing off their shirts:
Kiawah352.jpg

I swear, this following picture was TOTALLY unprompted : )
Kiawah353.jpg

Love my kids!!! : )

Well, I hope you enjoyed the brief synopsis of our get away. Girls weekend is quickly approaching, so much Disney fun is on the horizon and I can't wait!!!! Also, of course I will continue to update this PTR thread with planning for our June trip (kinda the point of this thread : ) I found a GREAT discount for the Nick hotel that I was able to apply this week, and need your advice on my birthday night in the Orlando area...... stay tuned!
-Lesley

Lesley...these pics are BEAUTIFUL!!!
Honestly, the one of the kids on the
beach gave me chills!!! Your life is so
full of fun things, its truly uplifting!!!
LOVE IT!!!!

Wow! Looks like great fun, and what a neat vacation place! I had never heard of this place before reading your PTRs so I like how this is a "regular" event in your family -- neat tradition. Everyone seems so happy! Great introduction to your spring break trip! :goodvibes

Your pictures of the fun activities were great. I love to explore Charleston. One of my roommates in college was from Charleston, and I loved going home with her to Charleston.

Wonderful photos Lesley! I almost forgot how cute your family is!:goodvibes

BTW - how did Kevin know about your experience with that awful bus driver anyway??? As I recall you posted about it on your TR...is that how he knew about it?

Also - how was it determined that this was the same driver involved in the accident?

Beautiful pics -- they made me a little homesick (in a good way, of course). Glad to hear you liked Poogan's Porch and the horsedrawn carriage ride -- both great fun!

Loved those pictures!!!! What a great Spring Break escape! Congrats on the good discount at the Nick Hotel!!!! SCORE!
