TimandLesley's November TR No Kids/No Judging! TONS of pics -FINAL DAY pg. 9 1/2/11

Of course I miss the beginning of the TR, but enjoyed catching up!! :thumbsup2 I'm so happy for you and Tim that you had a GREAT trip together as a couple. I think every married with children couple should have those kind of trips often. It's a boost for the marriage.
Can't wait to see the pics of Osborne lights. popcorn::

Wooohooo! I'm here!! What an awesome report so far, as always!!
I'm glad that you like the BoardWalk so much. That was the first DVC resort that we stayed in after we bought in, and loved it. You are right about the location being so awesome! You can't beat being able to walk to Epcot and MGM! I remember them doing the same thing to us as far as the refillable mugs...kinda strange.
I can't wait for more!

Sounds like a great day

How long did it take you to walk to DHS from Boardwalk? Just curious

What kinds of things can you unlock at TSM?

Can't wait for more popcorn::
It took about 10 minutes but it seemed less, it's a great leisurely stroll!

What a fun day!

I looked for you guys, since I was there that week as well - I'll probably see myself in one of your pictures, or vice versa.

We were surprised with the crowds as well - it wasn't as crowded as summer, and we really only waited 15-20 minutes for most rides, but that was more than we figured. I guess the word is out about that time of year.

Have a great week!
Would be cool if we did have photos of one another. Yes, word is definitely out, oh well still had a GREAT time!

Sounds like a great day so far. I love the location of the Boardwalk and the ability to walk to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Makes things so much easier.

I totally agree with you about the Marie Osmond dolls. Totally creepy.
Such a great location. Yes, CREEPY!!!

ITA about the location of BWV. We stayed there in '03 and it was fab for getting to Epcot and MGM.
Such a great location, can't wait to try it with the kids this summer!
Thanks so much for all the pictures of the Christmas decorations. My husband and I will be there in 2 weeks (without the kids :scared1:) and one of the things I want to do on this trip is SLOW DOWN and take in all the little details! Loving your report. Keep it coming!
Glad you enjoyed them, hope you guys have a GREAT trip yourselves!

I just love seeing all the pics of DHS decorated for Christmas! So pretty and festive! Love the shirt you picked out -- I have been eyeing that one on the Disney Store website!
It is so pretty, glad you are enjoying them.
The walk to DHS and Epcot is the best! Can't beat that location.
The Christmas decorations are just so pretty, especially that giant tree!
Such a great walk!
What a fun day. You accomplished a lot before lunch! LOVE that shirt. Too cute!!
Yes, we sure did, thanks!
I love WDW at Christmas time. We have been going for the past 5 years in Dec. We will be there in 18days.
Looks like great pictures and great times with friends.
Have a GREAT trip!
I knew you would fall in love with the Boardwalk! I just read that you are staying at the Beach Club next, you will love it there even more than the Boardwalk! Its my favorite hotel because its closer to epcot and the pool is the best pool on disney property! :lovestruc
Yes, just love it, can't wait for Beach Club, do they have good counterservice options there though? I loved being able to walk to the Boardwalk bakery at night.

Oh so much fun at DHS! Wow! And lunch at the drive in, with your "dates" HOW apropos..... :lmao: Too cute. Oh and I have gone back and forth on that Tee shirt too! Very cute. Nice choices! I can't wait to hear what you all thought about Osborne Lights. It was so amazing when we saw it last year, it blew me away. When I see pictures it still blows me away!!!! SO, I can't wait! :rotfl:

Looking forward to another great update! :goodvibes
Yes, we had such a great time. Thanks! Osborne lights was AMAZING!
Enjoying your TR Lesley! Looks like you and Tim are having a great time! My DH and I went in early December when our oldest was just 11 months (he didn't know what he was missing yet ). It was so beautiful that time of year!!! Looking forward to Osborne Lights!! (Those dolls creep me out too!)

~Beth

Welcome, enjoy!

I am living vicariously through you all. Just got back in October and while that was wonderful - nobody does Christmas quite like Disney. I've loved seeing all the decorations and am super excited for the Osborne Lights - they are stunning! So glad to of found another Tim and Lesley trip report!
Hope you had a wonderful time in October, that's when we went last year and had a great time.
Sorry I'm late....
So glad you got to see the Christmas decorations. I am sooo soooo missing Disney this Christmas.
My favorite time to go. I can't believe it was crowded.
Can't wait to see your Osborne lights pics!! So magical!
Glad you had a second honeymoon.:)
Welcome, better late than never! Yes, we enjoyed our second honeymoon FOR SURE!

Sounds like a great day

Only about 10 minutes. All kinds of things, such as on the alien scene if you loop all of the aliens on the rocket a big robot mouth opens up and you can keep shooting in for 1000's, then 2000's, then 5000's of points. If you do a youtube search on strategies it will help, that's where Tim found it. Most of it requires team work and a willing/able partner : )

Another great update. That walk would be great and I love your holiday shirt... too cute!

The lights at HS are stunning, cannot wait for your pictures.
Thanks, coming up!

WELCOME! Glad you found us again. The walk is GREAT! Yes, mug thing IS strange!

I'd like to know too! :)
It's actually a regular fit but to be honest I don't like it at all now that I came home, the neckline is SO low that when I wear a white long sleeve shirt under it (which, when you live in Ohio in Freezing temps you have to) it looks stupid, now I'm regretting the purchase:confused3:confused::eek:
Lesley

So………. When I last left you were cleaned up to hit the town. We headed out of the room and walked over to Hollywood Studios, believe me, this walk DOESN’T GET OLD, the location of the Boardwalk Villa’s rocks!
139.jpg

In typical Lesley fashion I lagged behind as my traveling companions ventured ahead. I like to stroll at a leisurely pace and take pictures and soak it all in.
Before we knew it I could see the park in the horizon:
140.jpg

141.jpg

I was soooooooooooooo excited to see Osborne Lights!!!! We stopped for a photo op at the sign:
143.jpg

When we got into the park I noticed one of my favorite entertainers was putting on a show, so I stopped to watch:
144.jpg

At first Tim wasn’t into it, said he just doesn’t enjoy the shows very much, but as the guy went on, Tim was pulled in – you just can’t watch this guy and NOT be pulled in, he is hysterical. Well, before you know it, I was picked from the audience to participate in a trick:
145.jpg

Here’s my card:
146.jpg

Not only are his tricks amazing but he is freakin’ funny, we laughed so hard. I had to stop and get a photo with him:
147.jpg

If you are ever in the studios and see him, take the time to stop. Last year when we saw him he had a side kick that made his show even more funny, but even without him it was extremely entertaining.
After the show we strolled back towards Toy Story Mania. On the way we passed by this:
148.jpg

I can’t WAIT for this to open, should be awesome!
I took some time to take some pics along the way as we strolled:
151.jpg

Best show E-V-E-R!!!
149.jpg

We took one more ride on Toy Story Mania using our fast passes from earlier in the day:
153.jpg

Diane and I rode together and Bryan and Tim rode together. When we got off the guys were bummed because Bryan’s gun wasn’t working, so they let them ride again. Diane was thirsty so we went to get a drink, look what she noticed behind the cart, I had never seen these before, just love the details of Disney…
152.jpg

At this point I noticed I had a message from my brother. Luke and Lauren have been taken karate and today was a big day for them. They had memorized a LONG creed and had to recite it in front of the class to earn a tip on their belts. Well, I was very nervous for them and was anxiously awaiting the phone call so I went to find a quiet bench to call my brother back. Turns out they both earned their tips, I was a proud momma!!! My brother sent me a video so I was able to sit there as I waited for Tim, Bryan and Diane (she was calling home at this point too) and watch a video of them. Pretty cool!
We all met up after the boys rode and we headed over to the Streets of America:
156.jpg

Look at this sign:
155.jpg

Here is the tree they are referring to that was on top of her kitchen, amazing!
157.jpg

It was EMPTY at this point (we were there about a half an hour before dusk). I was on cloud nine and so excited for the show to start. At first I thought it would be low crowds but the streets filled up quickly:
159.jpg

160.jpg

As we were waiting Tim and Bryan ran off and Tim ended up buying a round of beers for everyone (except for me, just not a beer drinker). Then before we knew it, it started to snow and the announcer came on:
163.jpg

I am not one to cry on the drop of a hat, I’m just not that kind of person, but I will tell you that when they flipped the switch and the lights came on, I cried, it is TRULY MAGICAL!!!
184.jpg

167.jpg

169.jpg

I just walked around like a kid in a candy store and took it all in. I had fun looking for the hidden Mickey’s (I think there are 32):
171.jpg

Tim had fun taking it all in as well:
172.jpg

180.jpg

CONTINUED IN NEXT POST!

Here are some of the pictures I took as we walked around. I had seen photos before, but it doesn’t do it justice, it is SO VAST, it goes on and on, and I didn’t realize how many streets it encompassed:
183.jpg

181.jpg

182.jpg

188.jpg

185.jpg

Beautiful manger scene:
189.jpg

Loved the train:
191.jpg

192.jpg

We just had so much fun strolling around and taking it all in:
190.jpg

195.jpg

194.jpg

206.jpg

I was on a mission though, I had heard that every year the man who had these lights had hidden a purple cat within the decorations for his daughter to find. I wanted to find the cat. We asked CM’s for clues and one told us if we found Jack he is by Jack…. Huh!?! So now we looked for Jack AND the purple cat.
I hope you can see this, it was SO tricky to find, but we finally found it behind the gate on the ground:
210.jpg

209.jpg

It’s funny, it was soooo hidden and bigger than I had imagined so even when we found it we questioned if it was really “it”. Bryan walked up and said “well, there’s a purple cat right there!” too funny, yes, indeed we had found it J
I was a HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY GIRL!!!
208.jpg

We continued to walk around soaking it all in, taking pictures:
Can you see the lights dancing??
214.jpg

215.jpg

220.jpg

I did miss the kids at this point and wished they were there with us to see the lights. We vowed we will take them back as soon as we can so they can see them too, can’t wait to experience it with them as well.
By this point we were really hungry and Food and Wine Festival was calling our names, so we headed for the exit:
Ears all lit up at night:
224.jpg

Loved this display:
225.jpg

We took the long stroll from Hollywood Studios over to Epcot, how nice that you can just walk it, it was awesome! We each took that moment to call our kids. The kids were at my brother’s house with my family having pizza and seemed happy so it was a good time to check in.
The rest of the night is mainly a narrative. It was getting chilly so Tim walked ahead of us, ran up to the room to drop off the camera and grab sweatshirts for us. He was a MACHINE because he met up with us by the time we got to the Boardwalk, he said his legs were killing him…. I BET!
We literally ate and drank our way around World Showcase as fast as we could (we only had an hour before closing), it was AMAZING!!! I sampled TONS of foods and wines from each country, so did Tim, (the bill was high but it was worth it). Here I am in Norway holding Tim’s beer as he was in line (Diane snapped it of me):
photo.jpg

We had a GREAT time.
Funny story time:
We made our way over to Great Britian and we headed into the store because I wanted to get beer coasters for my brother as a Christmas gift. Behind the register there was a list of words to ask the saleswoman how they say that in Great Britian. She was very pretty and had a great accent and Bryan and Tim had fun asking her how to say various things. Bryan and Tim kept saying “Man, I could sit there and talk to her all night” they LOVED her and her accent : )
Well, then I really wanted to watch the fireworks, it was getting crowded and they were starting. We had a discussion on if we should stay or not. Tim (VERY inebriated at this point) thought he was being nice but yelled “JUST WATCH THE FIREWORKS!!!” VERY loudly when it was getting quiet. We DIED laughing. It sounded mean like “just watch the &%^$# ing fireworks!!!” but he meant it sincerely. One of those “had to be there moments” but we laughed about it the rest of the trip. Needless to say I did stay and watch most of them, then we walked (aka stumbled) back to our room. At the exit there was a very large CM and he saw Tim’s Yankee stuff and said “I have to give you a five” Tim said “oh no, you have to give me a hug” and embraced him, tooooo funny!
What a WONDERFUL memorable night!!!

Oh WOW! FANTASTIC update!!!! The pictures of
osborne lites are incredible!!!! We missed this wonderful
attraction on our nov trip because we couldn't be two
places at once. It was opening night for both
osborne lights and MVMCP and we went home the next
day so we had to choose one!! maybe next time!!
Seeing the Christmas decos at Disney is the most
magical experience ever, soooooo amazing! LUV it!!!:santa:

So glad you got to take in all of the Osborne lights... and even go on the scavenger hunt for the cat. I've never heard of that one! You are so right.. pictures can NEVER do it justice (even though you got some fabulous shots!). It's just so magical!!

We also LOVE the walk to the studios from BWV. I'm so happy to hear how much you love the location... that's the #1 reason why we love that area so much!

The picture Diane caught of you holding Tim's beer is ADORABLE!!!

Sounds like a wonderful, wonderful day!

Wow! I love the pics. I've just about got the fam talked into going in Nov so I'm loving your tr. Sounds like you had a wonderful time at the dancing lights!

Hearing you describe the "flipping of the switch" and seeing the light made me misty. It is truly an incredible sight.
It brings me back to my trip last year and seeing them "live" for the first time.

Love drunk Tim's shout out!!! Don't we all get a little "loud" when we drink? :rotfl2:
