Hi guys, so sorry, I hate reading TR's when updates take forever so I sincerely apologize. We are still on vacation and will be until Sunday but I have an update here to tide you over, worked on it this morning. We actually had a Dismeet here with Alice and her wonderful family last night, it was great and I'll post those pics when we return.. Enjoy the update.

So I left you after a wonderful Magic Kingdom night seeing WISHES and snacks in the hotel room. After such a late night you would think we might have slept in, but NO, on this day it was Father’s Day and my 32nd b-day, we had an early (before park opening) breakfast at the Playhouse Disney breakfast at Hollywood studio’s so we had a 7:15 wakeup call and were on the bus to Hollywood Studio’s by 7:30. We woke up and exchanged gifts. The kids had made some home made gifts for Tim and I had bought him some Yankee stuff and written a poem for him and had it framed, etc. My favorite gift was a personalized shirt for him that said “Luke I am Your Father” to wear on Father’s Day to Star Wars Weekends.

Tim and Luke had gone to Downtown Disney and shopped for jewelry for me and got a great necklace for me, I just loved it. Here I am modeling it:

We got there by 8:00 for our 8:05 breakfast. We headed right in. I was surprised by how empty this restaurant was and it was at best half full the entire meal. We again asked for our bill up front which helped. The food was great at this restaurant and since it was really empty the characters came fast:

I was surprised that they had a cool interaction thing with a Playhouse Disney guy who came out and led dances, that was lots of fun for the kids. Here they are dancing:

Then we returned to the table for more characters. Along came June:

After our wonderful breakfast Tim was “feeling” the Dream Squad at the Great Movie ride and we just love that ride so we headed to the rope drop in front of the Great Movie Ride. Here is Lauren sporting her Princess Lea hairstyle at rope drop:

Unfortunately no Dream Squad sightings here this a.m. but we had a good time on the ride.Here are some pics of it:

This scene is so freaky with the Alien, I always cover Lauren’s little eyes:

After that we grabbed Fast Passes for Toy Story for later and then we kind of wandered around not knowing what to do next for a minute, I wanted to do the Animation Studio’s tour and do the drawing class so we headed there but they weren’t open yet, bummer. So we looked at the times guide and saw that the next Jedi training academy was in a half an hour, I was scared about the crowds being crazy because it was Father’s day and Star Wars Weekends but we headed over. Here was the stage:

Since we got there so early we were right by the rope which was good but it was SO HOT, words just can’t describe how hot it was, the sun was bearing down, absolutely no breeze at all and SO super humid. I felt badly for Lauren having to wait there for a half an hour in that heat so I told Tim and Luke we were going to walk around. Lauren had wanted to use her souveneir money for face painting so we went and did that. After she was all painted and we had killed about 20 minutes we headed back to the heat box. Here is her new beautiful face:

Then FINALLY after I couldn’t see a spot on Tim’s shirt that wasn’t riddled with sweat the host emerged and all of the kids went NUTS jumping up and down, he was selecting kids left and right and poor Luke was still jumping up and down, he had selected like 10 kids and it just wasn’t looking good. Then out of nowhere he pointed to Luke. I COULDN’T BELIEVE IT HE WAS CHOSEN!!!! So cool! Here is a super happy Luke getting selected and during the training sessions, it was so awesome!!!

All of a sudden the heat didn’t matter and we were cheering him on. IT WAS SO COOL!!! Since it was star wars weekends they had kids on the stage and kids down below. The kids on the stage battled Darth Vader and Luke got to battle this guy:

I was so excited he got to battle Darth Maul. Here is a video I took of Luke battling Darth Maul. I started video taping and then passed the camera to Tim, Luke is several kids in so be patient, happens soon after I pass the camera across the crowd, ENJOY!:

Since it was Star Wars Weekends not only did they get a normal Jedi Training Certificate which was super cool but we were pleasantly surprised that he got a collectors edition Star Wars Toy too:

We were on cloud nine after this. We decided to cool off and give the kids a break in our new favorite place, Honey I Shrunk the Audience Playground. Here are some shots of that:

As we were leaving there Lauren had been BEGGING to meet Princess Lea. We had looked and looked and just couldn’t find here and the Main character meet and greet lines were at least a half an hour long, I didn’t know what to do. Well, wouldn’t you know it that there was a lady dressed as Lea walking by at that very moment. I said “Look Lauren, it’s Princess Lea!!!” She was so excited. I took the lady to the side and said “can my daughter have her picture taken with you?” Of course she thought it was awesome and obliged. To this day Lauren thinks she was the real deal:

After this we went and grabbed a spot for the Star Wars parade. Found a shady spot under a tree but it was still hot. Here are the kids posing by the hat as we waited:

Then the parade started. This was a very cool parade. LOVED the characters dressed in their Star Wars gear, I kept trying to get them but they kept turning, here was the best I could get. Those floats move fast and my camera doesn’t : )

David Prowse, the actor who played Darth Vader was there that day, here he is in the parade:

This lady was ALL KINDS OF FREAKY!!!

Luke’s new friend was there too:

Warwick Davis, one of the famous Ewok’s was in the parade that day too, he was funny and kept taking pictures of everyone taking pictures of him, I finally got a picture of him when he put the camera down:

Then after a great parade we headed to the Animation Tour. Here was our animator:

I love that cute show, hope they update it soon though, I’ve learned a lot about Mushu over the years and am ready to learn more about another character.
Then we found Sorcerer Mickey inside, it was GREAT!

Luke spotted Frozone and got excited so we hopped in the teenie tiny line to see him:

Tim and the kids had fun putting their voices into the voice machines:

Then we did the drawing class. This was so funny because Tim and I just CAN’T draw, here was Tim at the beginning of class, this picture CRACKS ME UP!!!

Lauren could barely reach the board:

The class was fun, we voted to draw Pluto and we gave it a try. Luke started melting down because he couldn’t keep up so he basically cried and whined the whole class which made it stressful for Tim and I (listen to me making excuses already for our drawings). Then Lauren had to pee and could barely hold it. I had to exit a few minutes early. Here are our drawings. I want you to vote whose was best and guess who you think drew what.

After our art class we were hungry and headed to grab some lunch. We got some lunch at that outdoor counterservice place by the Honey I Shrunk the Audience Playground, can’t remember the name of it. Food was o.k., I got pulled pork and Tim got a chili dog and the kids got a chicken dish. Tim and I loved the alcoholic drinks served next to the food court, that was a yummy break mid afternoon on our Father’s Day/ B-day Celebration. Here are our drinks (funny that’s the only picture I took of the meal):

I took a picture of the standby line for Toy Story photo as we walked by, this was actually mild compared to those we saw that day. I’m telling you, grab a FP EARLY for this one or ride standby within 30 min. of park opening:

After this we split up because Tim and Luke wanted to see Indiana Jones and Lauren and I wanted to catch the new Playhouse Disney show. We were only 5 min. until Playhouse Disney and 10 min. to Indy so we new our chances weren’t good but we sprinted off in opposite directions. Lauren and I got there and it instantly didn’t look good. They were closing off the line and looked like they were turning people away. Lauren turned ugly and said “thanks a lot mom, you ruined my day, I wanted to see that show more than anything else”. NICE!!! Comments didn’t make me the happiest mommy in the world. But LUCKILY we got in, we were in the very back but it didn’t matter, we were in. Then Lauren started singing my praises “You are the best mommy in the world, I am so excited!”. The show started and it was such a good show. Here are some pics I took of the new show:

Then it wrapped up with Mickey and friends again, SUCH A GREAT SHOW. I felt bad because I texted Tim during the show and they didn’t make it into Indiana Jones show, they were a little late. We headed to Toy Story to use our Fast Passes. Here are the kids in line:

Then it was after 2:30, it was hot and we were tired so we headed back to the hotel. When we arrived back at the room I had arranged for a surprise for Tim and it was waiting for him, here it was:

I had asked if Mickey could give him a card too, and HE DID!!! I was so happy and Tim was excited about his surprise:

We got out the plates and dug into the cake, it was YUMMY!

Great installment. Thanks for doing one while still on vacation. O.K., my vote on the pictures is Tim's is the first one and yours is the second one. I think yours maybe the second one because you're the mom and you were dealing with a pee crisis and couldn't concentrate that much. Tim's is number one because, well, although annoying, you can ignore whining.

Wasn't the drawing thing fun? We did that on our last trip and had so much fun. I think it was mostly because I actually drew something besides a stick figure. I think you both did a great job on the drawings...but I have to vote for #2!

Thanks for the GREAT update! I LOVE Tim's shirt, SO appropriate! The Jedi Master you had was the same one we had, he was awesome wasn't he! Lauren's face painting looks adorable and her Princess Leia hair is too cute! So EXCITED for Luke that he got chosen! Matthew said "hey, that is so cool he got that toy" Love your necklace too! Once again Tim does a GREAT job! OK as for the drawing, I think the 1st one is Tim's and the 2nd one is yours. Enjoy the rest of your vacation!

Another great day! So glad that Luke got picked... and that you got into the Playhouse Disney show...Lauren lines are such a 4 year old. Hannah goes ugly/sweet quick too... although not so much at WDW! The new Playhouse Disney looks fun, glad to see it was updated. So shocked at how empty the breakfast was... how does it rank among the other morning buffets you ate at?

Where did you get Tim's shirt... I think Doug needs that!
