So…………… where did we go???? We headed to the boat dock at WL to rent water mice. Tim headed up to the room to change his clothes and I took the kids to the docks, and started filling out paperwork.
We ended up renting 2 boats for 30 minutes each. Tim took Luke and I went with Lauren, both kids were excited about the ride.
Here are the kids with their life vests on ready to go:
Here are Lauren and I in our boat:
These things are so cool! Tim and Luke did this last year, it was my first time. It was amazing being able to ride all around the lake and see the Poly, Grand Floridian and Magic Kingdom up close. Here are some pics from Tim’s boat:
It was a super hot day and in the no wake zone when we were going slow LAUREN MELTED DOWN! She kept crying saying she was thirsty and wanted to go to the room. This was only 15 min. into our ride. As she was crying Tim and Luke zoomed up and I told him I was loving it but obviously Lauren was melting down. She was bawling when he snapped this shot of us:
I headed back towards the lodge. Turns out Lauren and I only stayed out about 23 minutes or so, but the time we were out there was such fun. We headed to the drinking fountain and then she played on the playground until Tim and Luke got off because Tim had the room keys. It was funny, as she was playing she said “Mommy, you want to come play with me?” I said “Lauren, not right now honey, mommy is tired and I was supposed to be sitting on that boat right now”. She said “do you have a headache from all the crying”. I replied “yes, you were very cranky out there Lauren” to which my little darling replied “no, actually mommy, I was grumpy”. I swear, that girl : )
Tim and Luke came in, they had such a good time.
We headed up to the room to find these beautiful surprises from mousekeeping:
The kids settled into watch some t.v. and relax, I hopped into the shower. We had dinner at Whispering Canyon Café planned with friends from my work at 5:00. Before dinner Tim took the kids down to the arcade. I called the front desk from the room to find out room charges because I wanted to go down and pay them before dinner. Well, I called and the guy gave me a heart attack when he told me it was 1,400!!!!!!!!!!WHAT, COME AGAIN!!!!! He said, hold on a minute and came back and said “$124.00, does that sound better?” YES, MUCH! O.K., heart attack over, time to meet my family downstairs.
I went to the desk and was paying the bill and turned around and saw my friend from work Patti and her daughter Brooke sitting there. We started talking about our trips and then her husband Eric and son Alex came up. Then Tim and the kids soon joined us. After that my friend Penny and her family. None of these families had ever eaten at WCC before, we had warned them and told them about it. Penny and her husband Wayne decided to wear their Universal shirts for the occasion, here is their family (Wayne, Penny, Lauren and Emily):
We had a good time from the moment we sat down. The staff immediately gave Penny and Wayne a hard time about their t-shirts. All of the kids got into the ketchup and crayon passing. We didn’t do a good job with planning out the seats and put the kids on the inside, so Luke had to be “passed” over the adults to get involved in the antics. Here is Patti and her husband lifting Luke back to his seat:
This meal was so much fun. Here are the kids:
We just had such a good time here. The food was good, I had TWO chocolate shakes, so yummy. But the fun and antics were even better. The kids got to do the horse ride around the restaurant.
Here is silly Luke having fun with his horse:
Lauren had fun on her ride too:
Tim spent the entire meal trying to get this guy into trouble:
The waitress teased him and he thought for sure that she was going to do something to Wayne. In conversation she got out of Tim that our 10 year anniversary was coming up soon. Well before we knew it she appeared with a wooden horse for Tim. …………………………….. OH YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This made the night, made the trip for me actually. Before I knew it she was announcing to the restaurant that Tim was celebrating his 10 year anniversary with me and he was going to do a horse ride around the restaurant singing “you are my sunshine” to me. I LOVED every minute of it. Here is the video I took of his ride:

After that he came back and the whole table said it wasn’t good enough and the restaurant started chanting “LOBBY, LOBBY, LOBBY, LOBBY!” It was great! So…………………………… next thing you know, he had to repeat his ride and song throughout the lobby. Here is my video of that : )

After this fun meal and smiles on our faces we headed out trying to decide what everyone was doing. I felt sorry for Patti because her daughter Brooke had a bad ear infection that day and had spent most of her day in a doctors office and she wanted to get some park time by going back to Magic Kingdom, but gave into her kids begging to stay with all of us. We headed to Fort Wilderness via boat (another first for our family) to do Smore’s.
Here we are walking up to the campground:
The kids had so much fun!
We had missed the singalong portion but they were playing Meet the Robinsons.
Wayne was super nice and bough S’more stuff for ALL of the kids. Here are the kids roasting their Smore’s :
After that Patti’s daughter Brooke’s ear was hurting so we all headed to the beach to help them get back to the boat dock. We decided to stay there with Patti, Wayne, Emily and Lauren because the kids were having so much fun playing in the sand and watch the water pageant again.
Tim and I enjoyed a hammock on the beach:
So did the kids:
Wayne and Penny needed to get to Transportation and Ticket Center to pick up Lauren’s backpack that they had left at the Magic Kingdom a few nights before (that is were lost and found is). Well I told them instead of waiting for fireworks on the beach we should head out now so they could beat the mad rush at MK after WISHES. So they took a boat to MK and we took the boat to the WL. Well, our boat stopped at Contemporary first and the water pageant was going in front of us and the boat couldn’t move so our driver stopped in the middle of the lake and we had a perfect view of WISHES, it was so cool!!! Then we made it back to the WL. (Wayne and Penny called and said they got there just in time, walked up and got on a bus and left, perfect timing for them which made me happy).
The kids were so tired on the boat, it was like a 45 min. boat ride total and they both fell asleep on the boat. In fact when Luke woke up he almost stepped right off the side of the boat.
Well, we got them up to bed:
Such a great night!!! Lots of firsts for our family and that image of Tim on that horse will be forever in my mind…………………..
