Timandlesley’s how to win a dream in 10 days 11/15 NEW PTR UP!! pg. 94 has link!!!

Hmmmm, wonder why they decided to get rid of the potatoes:confused: Are these the same potatoes they serve at breakfast?

So…….. today was our first Magic Kingdom day, we were so excited. Wake up call came through at 645 a.m. and since we were in bed early the night before we were all up and ready to go. We were going to take the boat to the Magic Kingdom and actually walked down to the dock but then it occurred to us that the only boat that starts running that early is the one to the Contemporary and that would take a while having to use the monorail, etc. so we headed to the bus stop. So for those of you staying at WL with early MK ressies the bus is your way to go.
Today was the morning where we all wore our matching shirts that we had gotten at the Disney Store. We wanted some good family shots in front of the castle on an empty Main street.
Here are some of our Main Street pics. I LOVE the Photopass ones but don’t have the CD yet, when I do I’ll show you those too.

Then we headed to Crystal Palace, we had an 8:05 reservation and were seated by 8:10.
This is such a beautiful restaurant:
DSC00896Small.jpg

DSC00895Small.jpg

We had been told by someone on the Dis to ask for the bill as we were seated for buffets to avoid the long wait to settle up the bill for these early reservations so we could get to rope drops. THIS WAS A LIFE SAVER. This was the first meal we tried it at and it worked GREAT. Remember, I had put tip money in cash in baggies for each day of the trip ahead of time. I went on Allears, figured out approximately what the bill would be, put our reservation times and confirmation numbers on index cards with 18% tip amounts for each restaurant and threw in a few ones each day so I could add more or take away if warranted (buffets I tip a bit less and some service we had this trip warranted more than 18%). This worked out great because I just grabbed the baggie from the safe each morning and it had tip money, reservation numbers and times all in one place. I highly recommend doing this!
The characters came around fast and furious:

The food was delicious as always:
DSC00903Small.jpg

Maybe we missed this in years past but it was new to us. They told parents to wave their green napkins in the air to re-create the Hundred Acre woods and the kids paraded around with the characters:
DSC00911Small.jpg

Tim had a little TOOOOOOOO much fun with his napkin:
DSC00909Small.jpg

DSC00910Small.jpg

So after breakfast Luke whipped out the map and got serious : )
DSC00918Small.jpg

We were at rope drop under the castle by 8:55 which worked out great.
Our view from the rope:
DSC00921Small.jpg

We headed first thing to Small World.
DSC00922Small.jpg

Tim said he “had a feeling about that ride”, so we headed that way. We did see the Dream Squad go in the back entrance when we walked up so we had a little bit of hope. We were the first riders of the day, it was so cool. Here we are walking down to the ride, the lady came and greeted us and escorted us down:

DSC00924Small.jpg

We enjoyed our ride, sang out loud together and just soaked in being in the Magic Kingdom all alone on Small World and having a GREAT time together as a family.

DSC00928Small.jpg

As we got off, we rounded the corner and SHE WAS HERE:
DSC00930Small.jpg

We were so excited, DREAM EARS all around!!!! (Did any of you notice how Tim spelled DREAM backwards on our t.v. “on our next episode” he was waiting for someone to notice)
Here is a pic of us with our dream squad member, she was so nice and so flattered to be asked to be in the picture:

CONTINUED IN NEXT POST!

After our AWESOME Small World ride with Dream Ears on we headed to Peter Pan.
Here are my boys happy in line dream ears in tact:

DSC00933Small.jpg

Here is a photo of Luke I snapped on the ride:
DSC00934Small.jpg

After Peter Pan we walked right into Philarmagic,
DSC00936Small.jpg

just LOVE that show, especially when Ariel reaches out and hugs you, or you get that whiff of apple pie, YUM!

Then we decided to head towards the big rides (Big Thunder Mtn. Railroad and Splash Mtn). On our way there we passed by Haunted Mansion and decided to ride since we’ve never ridden before and this was the wait time:
DSC00937Small.jpg

Here is Tim waiting by the graveyard:
DSC00938Small.jpg

That was a little scarier than I remembered. I rode with Lauren and explained to her the ghosts were fake, etc. She loved the scene with them dancing in the dining room. Luke LOVED the hitch hiking ghosts.
After that ride, we stopped for some Woody’s Roundup as Tim went ahead to get Splash Fast passes.
DSC00939Small.jpg

As we were standing there watching Woody Tim called on my cell and said “come quick the Splash Standby line is only 5 minutes so I Fast Passed TMR instead. As we walked that way and we approached it was CRAZY it quickly rolled from 5 minutes, kept going to 10, then 20, then 30, 40, 50, 60 MINUTE WAIT!!!. YIKES! I was soooo bummed because it’s my favorite ride and the TMR passes he got had a return time for right after lunch and by that time we’d never have a return time we could stay for with Splash. So we started to walk away and I was doing my Splash Mtn. pout since it’s my favorite. Then we decided we’d just wait since it was a fast moving line and Lauren and I wanted to do it so bad. By the time we turned around the sign had changed back to a 20 minute wait, they just couldn’t make up their mind I guess.
So we were headed to ride my FAVORITE ride in MK:
DSC00940Small.jpg

Lauren discovered the fans in the barrels as we were in line, she kept saying “come to mama” ; ) O.K., she’s her father’s daughter too : )
DSC00941Small.jpg

I thought this was gross, I looked up and at one of the beams you pass all this gum was there, had to take a picture because it is so un-Disney, I’ll get back to you later on in the TR to let you know if they got rid of this:
DSC00942Small.jpg

Tim was excited to ride too:
DSC00943Small.jpg

Lauren and I on the ride:

Happy Luke on the ride:

It sure is:
DSC00947Small.jpg

I almost bought a t-shirt in the lobby that said that, I should have! Oh well, next year. .
Here is our attempt to photograph our picture on the ride:
DSC00949Small.jpg

We had a great time riding and now it was time for lunch. Today was a day we were going to do snack credits to buy the kids lunches and give them some of ours to save credits for our 2 TS meal at the Castle later on that week. Well, I saw corn dogs on a cart that had the snack credit logo on it, I thought “What a deal!”. Well, the lady couldn’t get our card to work, said it was a new system or something. She ended up saying “well, it isn’t your fault so just have the corn dogs and we won’t charge you a snack credit”. SCORE!
Here is Lauren with her free corn dog (and who said nothing is free in Disney):
DSC00951Small.jpg

Tim and I ate at Pecos Bill
After lunch we rode Thunder Mtn. using these babies:
DSC00952Small.jpg

Luke in line:
DSC00953Small.jpg

Such a fun ride!
DSC00956Small.jpg

After we were done with that it was time to head back to the resort because we had something fun in mind to do this afternoon INSTEAD of naps. So Tim decided to walk to get Space Mtn. fast passes for us to use later and then the kids and I took the train back to Main Street
Luke on the train:
DSC00955Small.jpg

First stop Toon Town:
DSC00957Small.jpg

But we stayed on the train to the next stop, Main Street!
We met Tim there and headed to the boat back to the WL, here are Tim and the kids at the boat dock at MK:
DSC00959Small.jpg

One of the best things about staying at WL is that boat back to the resort from Magic Kingdom, it is AWESOME!
Well, we didn’t go back to the room, we were headed for fun……….. but where???

ANother great installment! Did I read correctly - you guys had never been on HM before?!? That's my fav ride in MK!!

I just love reading your trip report! :goodvibes Looks like you all had a fantastic time at Magic Kingdom!!!:thumbsup2
Erin

Wow, you all had a awesome morning at the MK!!

I cannot believe the short waits. I guess that is what you get for being the early bird.::yes::

That is great you all got to ride the HM for the first time. It is one of my favorites.

I did notice the word maerd. I had no idea it was dream spelled backwards.:rotfl: I just thought it was a misspelling or something. You're too clever, Tim. ;)

We love Cp. We'll be eating dinner there next month, but breakfast is always great too! I'll be trying that "trick" of asking for the check as soon as we sit at the buffetts, it seems we wait longer for that than anything else!

I will also be trying the ride small world first thing in the morning too. We are usually at the parks for rope drops, maybe it will work for us too. Last year we were able to win Dream FP's at Ak, that made our day at AK such fun!!! We had always just spent a half day there but that day we were there for about 6-7 hours!!!!

Great installment!! You just reminded me that fast passes can be used even after their time window. Is that correct? Even the next day or two??

Congrats on the Dream! Tim needs to become some kind of "Dream Guide" for folks. He knows how to hit it just right!

Can't wait to find out about "fun time". Hmmmmm......

Great score on the Dream Ears. :thumbsup2 goes to Tim for getting the vibes!! :goodvibes

:lmao: with Lauren's "come to mama" comment! That is to funny and you got one handsome Luke on your hands there!!

CP looks sooo pretty. We had ADR's for our last morning there. :( too bad we had to cancel! But atleast I can live it up through the trip reports :) .

Hmmm wonder where you guys are heading????? :confused3 Can't wait to find out!

I didn't realize that y'all had never ridden HM before either. That's my one of my favorites.

Great score on the Dream ears. Ok, and I missed the hint. :headache:

I'm guessing that you might have gone horseback riding, and maybe had smores at Fort Wilderness. :scratchin

Thanks so much for the tip envelope idea ~ that is a great idea! I know that DH is going to be bummed about the tip changes, I think if I put the $ aside early and just hand it to the server that this will ease the pain some for him!

I also think the idea about getting the check early for the CP is a great one.

Thanks for sharing ~ I have to say the Crystal Palace is one of my FAVORITE places in the whole world. It is so hard to choose though, because I wrote the same thing after seeing ya'lls pics from 'Ohana:rotfl2: .

Congrats on winning a Dream. I Would have never thought to go to SMall World first. love the new castle pics and the matching shirts. We just bought those from Disney Store last month. Looking forward to what Tim had planned for afternoon.

Enjoyed reading about your MK morning...:thumbsup2 Congrats on getting the EARS!!! How exciting!!

Great idea about getting the bill when you order!! I will make sure we do that since we have 8:05am ADR's for Crystal Palace.

I am taking notes on what rides to ride at opening!!

Can't wait to see what the surprise was???

Yeah! another great update! :cool1:

Again, your plans are so similar to ours....We have early ressies at CP this time and I was wondering if the boat would be running that early. Now I know to take the bus!!! And I will make sure to ask for the check early!

You met the Dream Squad! I saw the "Meard" on the TV and thought "what is that?" lol very funny!

I was so excited to come here and find another update:banana: ...and it's awesome, as always!
You pointed out some HUGE tips that I definitely need to remember for our next trip. The baggie idea with the tips, and ADR info is so super smart!!! And the tip about asking for your check ahead of time for buffet meals is genious!!! Never would have thought of that. Lastly, thanks for telling us about taking the bus from the WL for early character meals. These are all something that I definitely need to keep in mind for our next trip! Thanks again, Lesley!

I love reading your trip reports!:goodvibes

We love going to the Crystal Palace for dinner. We haven't been for breakfast, but I would love to try it on our next trip.

Can't wait to hear the rest of your trip report!!

The whole family is so photogentic!

I'm finally caught up, GREAT TR so far!!! I've enjoyed your TRs for the past few years!!

You are making me miss the WL SO BAD!!! That boat from MK really was the best. And being so close to CR and the monorail. Loved it, I can see why your family keeps going back!!

Can't wait to read more!

i always LOVE MK days!!! :woohoo:

So after breakfast Luke whipped out the map and got serious
DSC00918Small.jpg

this is too cute!

As we got off, we rounded the corner and SHE WAS HERE:

DSC00930Small.jpg

yay!!! :yay: i swear this is the same girl that came running by us at MK our first night right before wishes jumping around and screaming "fireworks! fireworks!!!" she was so cute!

ray's been talking a lot about having kids lately. i think he just wants them because he wants some dream mickey ears! :lmao: i know everyone says it doesn't matter if you have kids or not, but i don't believe that. i've been to disney 3 times in the past year and never once won a dream. it helps that you guys have CUTE kids too!!! :goodvibes

I thought this was gross, I looked up and at one of the beams you pass all this gum was there, had to take a picture because it is so un-Disney, I’ll get back to you later on in the TR to let you know if they got rid of this:
DSC00942Small.jpg

that's really gross!!! why do people do this? i don't get it. :confused3

can't wait to see what you guys have planned!

We had lunch that afternoon at the CP! Very cool about the dream ears! I swear I was on the look out the whole week, and never saw them! I did see one man that morning walking back and forth in front of Winnie the Pooh ride.

What a great morning and Lauren got to ride the rides this year! That didn't seem right about the 60 min wait that early at Splash, glad it was way less!

I think I know what the mighty mice are... very cool!
Great update as usual!

We are having such a fun time reading your report - its the truth, its actual! :)
