What an awesome first day - very impressive! Great pics and report as always. I see you were wearing the Mickey necklace that I asked about in your PTR...I'm still planning on getting one.
Not sure if it will be mentioned in your TR later but I'm curious if Luke was holding Pal Mickey. If it was Pal Mickey, can you tell me if Luke liked it and if it was worth the money. I want to get one for our 6 year old DS.
Wait til' you see what I got for my b-day this year, I would hold off on that purchase!
Yes, it was a Pal Mickey. Really, we only used them that day, they are a hassle to carry around and my kids didn't use them after that so he stayed at the hotel. I would save the money personally.

Seeing your beautiful pics of the lodge reminded me our Wishes Cruise--our boat driver told us the story about the design of the exterior of the building as seen from the lake---Do you know which animal it is supposed to look like at night all lit up?????? I bet you do!
Oh, that's funny you mentioned that I learned that new this year, yes a BEAR!! Isn't that cool!
We were just at the Lodge in May (our first WL stay) and we loved it so much. Looking at your pictures made me miss it!

Hey Lesley - another great installment! Your room at WL looked very nice. Do they have the flat screen t.v.'s in those rooms? We are staying at AKL this coming trip and I am wondering if they put flat screens in the two lodges?? Your view looked very relaxing with the lake (?) in the background. Great first day I can see!!!
Glad you enjoyed it. Yes, in fact the first thing Luke said when we went into the room was "Flat screen t.v. baby!!!" I think they are at AKL too.

We have not had a meal at Chef Mickey's. I have heard mixed reviews. But, it looks like you all had a blast! Love Lauren's face when she is getting her book signed!

We felt the same way about the food at Chef Mickey's! Not great, but not bad. It was definitely for the experience of seeing all the gang!

I feel the same way about CM. It is definitely better at breakfast. Mainly due to the Krispy Kreme doughnuts. YUM

Great update! We bought 4 of the Mister/Miss books our last trip and DS loves them. There is actually a tv show coming out on Cartoon Network called Mr. Men which is based on the books. Maybe that is what you heard about?
Can't wait for the next update!
ps. What animal does the hotel look like at night?
Aren't those books great. Yes, we've seen the show but it is actually a disappointment, nothing AT ALL like the books, the kids don't even like the show anymore.

I can't tell you how much your trip report is adding to our excitement. I am in the car right now almost to Tampa!
We are staying at the beach for a couple of nights and then checking into the Wilderness Lodge on Tuesday!!We can't wait. I've been reading the report to everyone and my daughter, Abbie, has been loving the pictures. Thanks for letting us share in your fun. I can't wait to see what happens next!

Amazon to check out the Mr Men books, and saved a set to put in my wishlist. I have never heard of these books (and I read now constantly, and was read to as a child all the time, so I can't imagine how I missed them!?) Anyway, my second son is finishing kindergarten this week
and is reading easy chapter books.....is this something he could read do you think? He is loving My Father's Dragon and is thrilled to be reading by himself.
I know what it is like to "go home" to your favorite resort! I mean, anywhere you stay is Disney.....but there is something special about your favorite place, kwim? We are heading back to the Poly this august, where we haven't been since 2003.....I can't wait!
Lastly, tell Tim that he is right, Schoolbread from Norway rocks! Can't wait to read more!
Glad you are enjoying the report. Yes, I think he could read them, they are a little lengthy and use some big/English words in parts but he will catch on quick, they really are great books. I know exactly what you mean about your home away from home resort, WL is definitely that for us. I'll tell Tim about the schoolbread.

Yes, we watched it them in Italy, it is a great spot there, and the margaritas topped off the experience
