Tim Tebow

love Tebow....a great role model compared to some of the NFL players....and Elway is jealous and I think will get rid of him....his is money though....he had the best selling jersey before he ever set foot on the field....and people travel to see him!! I know we do!

I told my husband last night that Elway's probably getting antsy about losing his title of the 4th Quarter Comeback Guru.

Go Tebow. ;)

Cracks me up to see Elway running down to stand on the sidelines for the final minutes every game now.

Yeah he gets his big-toothed mug down there, cheers enthusiastically for any good play NOT involving Tebow. Tebow does something good and he get's this blank look on his face and claps numbly.

Lilygator, I wouldn't be surprised if he ships Tebow out after the season.

I am sensationalizing my feelings towards him, I honestly could care less. I mainly root for him to fail because I am sick of seeing the media cover him as well as all the "Tebowmaniacs", it is nauseating. Not to mention that he plays for the Denver Broncos, truth be told if he played for The Pats I probably would ignore the issues that I have with him.
Kind of like how I ignore the issues I have with Dave Mustaine because he is in one of my favorite bands of all time. I genuinely dislike Mustaine but love his music so I live with it.

Just curious, did you "genuinely dislike" Dave Mustaine before he became a Christian?

We're traveling just to see Tebow! I just bought tickets for my husband and I for the Bills/Broncos game at 1 o'clock on Christmas Eve in Buffalo to see Tim Tebow!! We really have no interest in the game other than watching Tebow live! He is so exciting to watch! I can't wait! Oh, and my husband has always been a Cowboys fan, but we have become Tebowmaniacs!! The guy is all heart!

Yes, Mustaine is obnoxious, I have never liked the guy. I have seen Megadeth live 7 times and I am seeing them again for an 8th time next month. It's not about Tebow or Mustaine being Christian, some of my favorite musicians are diehard Christians - Tom Araya (Slayer) and Rob Halford (Judas Priest), it's about how they choose to carry themselves. Not only that Tom Brady is Christian and I love him, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers are all Christian and I respect them both professionally and personally. As much as it pains me to admit that about Manning. I don't like how Tebow carries himself, therefore I dislike him. Like I said before he could be giving thanks to scientists for developing safer equipment in a completely over the top manner and I would still dislike him, it has nothing to do with his actual beliefs just how he chooses to express them.

Every time they show Elways face on the sideline, it looks like he's trying to digest a brick.

I love how all the haters are constantly changing their story. First is was "He'll never take a snap in the NFL" then "He'll never win a game" to "Well, he can run, but can't throw" to "It's the defense keeping them in the game" to the "Well they aren't playing good teams."

I'm impressed with John Fox for being willing to change his offense to fit his players. I wish my coach did that.

I'm impressed with how much heart and leadership Tebow shows. The kid wins games. More than my team has.

His throwing mechanics are atrocious, and I hope he can get a QB coach to help him fix that. If he can become a complete QB, he'll be scary.

As for being conspicuously religious, I don't have a problem with it as far as him playing football. I might have dogma issues with it, but then, that goes beyond the rules of the board.

spot on and I love how the media goes right to his face...everyone knows. And to trade their best receiver for essentially nada? COME ON, Tebow is working with 3-4 string for the most part PLUS, no real off season work together and he was pretty much 3rd to begin the season....Elway should get off his duff, get down there and work with him, he could have something great there...but no, his ego is in the way.

It's disgusting....a couple of other weeks some qbs had some not great numbers but they don't pick apart the throws, etc....half of Tebows throws have been right there, it touches your hands you should have it. imagine the pressure and stress he is under? your gm doesn't like you and you don't know week to week if you are going to be the starter, the analysts want to pick you apart.....it's nuts.....I get stressed for him!

he jokes in his book that his dad is to blame for that....since he taught him!
also, he played both baseball and football and admitted to better naturally gifted as a baseball player....but his dream as a boy was to be an nfl quarterback, then even pulled him from one team since they wouldn't let him play at that position.

I was using Vick as an example not as a baseline for value or moral judgment. People didn't like Vick before the whole dog fight scandal for very similar reasons that I currently don't like Tebow. I don't like his persona or how he carries himself. I never said anything to take away from his community service and/or humanitarian efforts, but just because he does some charity work doesn't give him a free pass on how he conducts himself. For that very reason is why I cheer for him to fail.

The disgust I have for Vick is way beyond superficial reasons. By this statement your contempt for Tim Tebow is more analogous to the way I feel about someone like Tony Romo.

How do you feel about Sam Bradford and Colt McCoy? Do they bother you as much as Tebow?

I was throwing balls with my son outside yesterday, and we both tried throwing left handed, and it occurred to me that maybe Tebow is naturally a righty. :confused3

For the record, I've loved Dave Mustaine ever since he told Ricky Rachtman off on Headbanger's Ball. :lmao:

Really? Makes me want to smack him. And he still can't say anything nice about Tebow. Before this all started I always had the impression that Elway was a stand up guy. Now I just think he is too stuck on himselfand apparently has no class.

I'm from NC, we've had Fox here for 9 years. This is the epitome of "FOXBALL."

Run the ball and stop the run.....Keep it close and we'll pull it out in the end.

He's old school and when it works, it WORKS.

Unfortunately, here in NC it meant 3 winning seasons out of 9.

Yes, Romo or even Sanchez would have been a better pick...I was thinking Vick the run first pass second QB and his initial attitude and over hyping when he came into the league.

How do you feel about Sam Bradford and Colt McCoy? Do they bother you as much as Tebow?

IMHO Colt McCoy can't win against good teams, he'll never make it long term and Sam Bradford is frail, he has the skills to be a long term starting NFL QB but he can't stay on the field, I do believe he got hurt again this past weekend. He's the new Chad Pennington, good when he can stay on the field. They don't bother me, like I said it has nothing to do with their Religion, it's how Tebow expresses it on the field and how Sports Media and "Tebowmaniacs" lift this guy up when in all reality he has proven nothing, the jury is still out. I will freely admit I am wrong is he becomes the next Warren Moon, Steve Young or John Elway but I personally don't think he will even be the next Doug Flutie.

For the record, I've loved Dave Mustaine ever since he told Ricky Rachtman off on Headbanger's Ball. :lmao:

LOL I had to look it up as I don't remember that, good stuff. :goodvibes In general, I completely forgot about Riki Rachman. I love Megadeth, there is just something about Mustaine that has always irked me. But again I can ignore it, like I said I freely admit that Tebow probably would not irk me as much if he played for The Pats, I even put up with Bryan Cox when he played for my team even though I hated that guy.
