Tim Tebow

Tim Tebow's faith is deep and it is who he is. It is more than something he believes, it is how he lives, as the scripture says, "To live is Christ."

Tebow is under a microscope, people are watching for him to fall/fail/screw up. I wish him nothing but the best in football and his life's mission.

Yeah, I do admire his faith and the way he lives his life -at least by all accounts I have heard. It's just that his ridiculously unorthodox brand of football makes me go "Aww, c'mon!" :goodvibes

I too wish him nothing but the best living his life of faith. In doing so he is being a great witness.

Although we are not a religious family, I much prefer having Tebow as my high school football player's role model rather than somebody like Michael Vick.

The things he does in Denver that just don't get mentioned, like meeting kids after games that want to meet him - to quote one of our sports anchors: "He just gets it."

As a person I think he's great - while I get that some people are annoyed about how open he is with his faith, it doesn't bother me - as long as he's not pushing his views on me.

As a Broncos fan I'm "Meh" - I don't think he's a great quarterback and really wish they'd give Brady Quinn a shot.

I really like Tim Tebow. As a football player, the jury is still out. I am rooting for him. As a person, I hope that my boys grow up to be just like him. I have never heard him say a bad thing about anyone, ever. He may have different values than some but that doesn't make him a bad person. In my opinion, it makes those who say how much they hate him very hypocritical.

On a side note, my younger cousin went to Florida state with him. I wouldn't go as far as saying they dated but they were a little sweet on each other. She has maintained that friendship and they talk frequently. Last Christmas time, she called him and she placed him on speaker and he wished us all a merry Christmas and called my boys by name. He really is a truly nice person.

I hear his fans are now buyin' his jersey 'n replacin' his name with that of Jesus, football really is a religion, ain't it? :goodvibes

I bet those boys were thrilled! That's very cool.

It was super cool but..... The thrill was ours. They were only 13.5 months old. My cousin lives in Los Angeles but comes home every Christmas and other holidays. I imagine that when they are old enough to know, we just might be able to have her make that phone call again.:)

Love him for who he is not what he does. He visited my 17 year old cousin that is battling lymphoma. And it wasn't a quick meet and great, he spent time. He won me over.

I'll have to look up that picture as I don't know much about it but I really doubt it. I think I would have known if she was, I think. Off to check google.

Ok, think I found the pictures. Defintely not. She is just as pretty but not nearly as well endowed in the chest. Not even close.

Your cousin didn't go to Florida State with him because he didn't go to Florida State. He went to the University of Florida.

I saw that too and it's just plain wrong. Again, it's not something the kid asked people to do, but maybe he should say something to stop it.

I honestly can't figure out how they keep winning football games though. I can see how people out there are believing in divine intervention. I've never seen a team play that badly and still win.

I'm sure she has confused the two. Easy to do. ;) We know the Gators well here in TN. When TN plays them, we pull for the Gators. Now that personal info could get me thrown outta Knoxville!

Im not sure he is good enough to be an NFL quarterback (will see), but Im rooting for him, I think his goodness is genuine. But like all of us, he might get a little full of himself sometimes

Well, the Broncos just released Kyle Orton, so I guess we are stuck with Tebow :goodvibes

Looks like he might be going back to Chicago. - scratch that - Orton is now the starting QB for the chiefs.

If he was Islamic and walking around with passages from the Quran written under his eyes and talking about the book he believed in, he would have likely been beaten up by now, told to go back to his own country, or arrested for possible links to terrorism. The hypocrisy works both ways.

Not by the mainstream sports media. The only religion they or the normal mainstream media criticizes is Christianity. I have heard people called closed minded or intolerant or a bigot for making fun of or criticizing Islam, Judaism, Buddhism, and most other religions but have never heard someone called that for making fun of Christianity.

Even on these boards you will see that people like Tebow are often criticized for their faith and no one says anything but if someone were to criticize someone equally for their Islamic or Jewish faith they would be raked over the coals.

It is what it is and I'm not really bothered by it or anything but I definitely notice it. Criticism of Christianity is treated differently than criticism of any other religion by the mainstream.

Ahem...he went to UF (or Florida). A very critical difference. ;)

he's completely full of himself. you want to be religious? fine, but you don't have to jam it down the rest of our throats.
