If I join his fan club ($20) and am allowed to purchase tickets early for his Chicago show, can I get good seats? Middle section lower floor? Or am I better off using broker? Thank you D

I've been a TM member for a few years. I've purchased tickets to his concert in Louisville lsat year and got 6th row. About 5 seats away from the cat walk. They were awesome seats. I got AWESOME pics...

It is definitely worth joining the club. I join so I can get good seats, same with Kenny Chesney. Plus, you may get chosen for a meet and greet!

When do the tickets for Tim's Chicago concert go on sale? I can't seem to find that information. I also want to know if it's worth joining his fan club. This would be my first time seeing him, but I've listed to his music for years. Now, I just need to find a GF to go with since DH has no interest in seeing him.

Joining the club gets you a chance to buy seats early. It does NOT guarantee that they will be good seats or even seats as good as the ones for people who wait until the regular sale goes on. I bought seats for his Charlotte, NC concert and they were terrible. It happens all the time but you don't hear much about it because the mods remove the posts of the people who complain. His site (to be fair it's not just his site, all of the major acts operate in pretty much the same fashion. It's just a way for them to milk the fans for a few extra dollars) is a ripoff. I ended up donating the seats I bought on his site to the USO and some soldiers who didn't mind the nosebleed ssection ended up having a great time.

If you are on his site now just go to the discussion forums and ask a very generic question about early ticket access. They will confirm that there are no guarantees of good seats. You will also see lots of posts about people who got wonderful seats. That's because they leave those posts on to make it look like a good deal. But the reality is that if the good seats were all held back for fan club members the non-club members would be screaming to the high heavens about it and they would have problems selling out the shows so early sales will have the same odds of getting a good seat as the regular ones. They make up for that by tossing the fan club members a bone in the form of a chance for a meet and greet, some concert merchandise, etc.

The bottom line is if you are thinking of joining the fan club because you think you will be in the best section for the concert don't waste your money. Either be ready to buy the second regular tickets or radio station presales start or buy at a premium from someone luckier than you were.

It airs on NBC. Its a pretty good show.
