**Tim Burton's Alice and Wonderland**

i hope that it will be good and not be all gory.

It's a Disney movie xD No gore. (And yes, this version is being done by Disney as well.. check out IMDB's page)

I'm a huge Burton fangirl, I watched Nightmare Before Christmas when I was 3 like, every day. I was born a week before it was released in theaters.
I love Edward Scissorhands, and am intrigued by his takes on things like Sweeney Todd (which IMO, cannot be compared to the play because it is so incredibly different from it).

I am very excited to see his take on this. And if Danny Elfman does the soundtrack- they can't go wrong in my book!

18 yr old Alice is already a very intriguing twist.

Huuh. Personally, I think to make a movie, you need to have incredible passion towards the subject. Which is hard. And to remake a movie, it's even harder because they're not even your ideas. To me, it just seems like Tim Burton is remaking it for the sake of remaking a movie. And kudos to one that millions of teenage girls like to think they relate to. Pretty good idea on his part.
I see it being like Twilight and Harry Potter and being completely overblown. There's nothing wrong with Harry Potter, (can't say the same for Twilight as I've never read it), it's just waaaaay overdone. I can imagine that Alice will have the same misfortune, simply because it is a Tim Burton remake. What a terrible way for the Alice story to go.
I'd hate to see it all become business.
Just my opinion.

Ditto.
It looks kind of dark, as does everything with TB, but I'm still hoping he keeps a part of it light and airy like in the cartoon.

All I'm saying is that I hope they all actually feel something towards the story and they're not just reading lines.

Like Helena when she played Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd. Loved her creepiness, but emotionally and personality wise, she was a terrible Lovett.

haha it took me like 10 minutes to figure out what you were saying :lmao:

mhm i loved helena as lovett :confused3 but i've never seen the play so the movie was the only version I saw

Yeah, in the plays Lovett is scatterbrained/slightly crazy, and the strongest singer of the bunch.

Helena can't sing. I'd still put her version of Lovett slightly above Patti Lupone, but she was just so emotionless singing, and part of it was the new take they had on the show, I'll give them that.

For example, "A Little Priest" is a comedy, with laughing and jokes.

i was watching the behind the scenes thing on the Sweeney todd DVD and Tim Burton was talking about how the play is more "The mrs. lovett show"
