Tim and Lesley Year of Million Compromises/TONS pics- 8/5 help me pg. 164!!!

I don't know, how does that work? That would be GREAT!
Lesley

I just called the local taxi and asked if they had airport transportation, and if they could accomodate a family of 6. He said yes and told me the charges would be aprox 25.00. I did not want to leave my car at the airport for 10 days. Are you close to an airport? Im sure there is a taxi service that does airport shuttle. Hope it works out for you.

Sharon,
Thanks so much, great tip. I don't know if Tim will go for it, he would probably not like depending on someone else to get him to the airport on time, but I'll give it a shot. We're about 25 minutes south of the airport, I'll call and check into it. Thanks.!
Lesley

Always a bummer to pay so much for your car to sit at the airport. Good luck finding other options. The 80.00 charge for internet sounds like alot, too bad it is not included at all WDW resort properties. Then all the DIS members could update us when they are there. That is always fun to read.
I know, it is STEEP!!! We paid it last year cause I was mentoring a few faculty members at the time but we didn't have to check in every day. I'll admit I was one to post to Dis when we were there last year, I was so excited for our refurbished WL room that I posted pic's of the room for others who were anxiously awaiting the pics of them.
Lesley

Lesley --- can you get reimbursed from UOP for having to have internet connection? :surfweb:
No,they used to do that but now since they figure everyone has high speed internet anyway they don' t pay us for it. If we travel it is up to us to be sure we can connect so it's on me. BUMMER!

Lesley, we always use off property parking because it is cheaper. There are usually several nearby, and often there is even a better deal at a nearby motel or car rental place. Do a search and see if there is a good deal somewhere. The airport long term parking is usually so expensive, and the off site lots all have shuttles that take you right to the door and you don't have to carry your luggage all the way in from the car! :cool1:

I am so excited for your family and can't wait to read about your trip. Keep us updated... I love your list and know come August I will be looking at yours to get mine ready!

Thanks, good idea. I also talked to Tim about the taxi thing and he was all for it, so I have some calls to make.

Thanks for sharing in our excitement! That is WONDERFUL your AAA stuff came, AWESOME. I know, it's magical to have that envelope in hand isn't it. I second you on the CVS and Target comment, they will be getting a lot of my money here soon.
Lesley

I love those Tiki t-shirts! Where did you buy them from?
Thanks, they were on sale at our Disneystore.
Lesley

I saw them Tuesday at the Disney Store in my mall for $4.99 each. They had them in my children's sizes also. Hopefully, Lesley got that price too.
I did but now I wish I would have gotten them for Luke and Lauren so we could all match!!!!
Lesley

Lesley,

I am trying Sunshine Rewards to earn Disney Dollars. I am curious if you can use Disney Dollars at the Disney store. I would like to use the money I earn to buy our t-shirts and stuff before the trip. I just think the Disney Dollars are so cute, I would rather get those for the children to "help me spend" :rotfl: than the gift cards.

That's a good question, I don't think the Disneystore is owned by Disney anymore, anyone know? I know they sell the tickets and the money though so they probably take Disney Dollars, but I'm not 100% on that. Glad you are using Sunshine, I just LOVE earning free Disney dollars on there! Got 70 Disney Dollars in 6 months for our trip!!!!
Lesley

Yes, they do take disney dollars. I just asked a couple of weeks ago when I purchased a ton for my DDs on our trip. I used an idea from a friend where we took money from their banks (extra change thrown in, not birthday or earned or anything) and cashed it in for Disney dollars. then when they behave well, or do something special, like clean up afterthemselves without mommy fussing, they get a dollar. I told them whatever is left stays in the bank, but whatever they earn the can spend at WDW. I wanted to be sure if they didn't earn it all, they could still use it here.

sorry, long story, but explains it!

Actually the Disney Store is owned by the Childrens Place. It is not a Walt disney owned company.

Thanks for letting us know, good to know! I figured they did since they sold them there.

Thanks, I thought I heard that just wasn't 100%

I KNOW!!! I can't believe we are at 21 days, AMAZING!!! Tim has some new work coming in this week so we will be o.k. with the parking payment. We called local taxi places and the cheapest was 100 ONE WAY!!!! Guess with gas prices that's what you'd expect.

We are off to West Virginia to visit Tim's brother, his wife and their new baby this weekend. We leave tomorrow and get back Sunday night so pardon my absence. I will start posting fast and furious when we get back because then it's GO TIME!!!! We'll be in the TEENS and time to pack pack pack like crazy.
Got my Disneyshopping order today and the tank top I ordered is super cute and fits great the other shirt is WAY too small, same size as the other one but it looks like a kids shirt, I am SOOOO bummed. I need to call them tomorrow on my lunch about a return.

Well, everyone have a GREAT holiday weekend, we'll be back Sunday night and then get ready for this Pre trip report to wrap up and we'll be headed to the WORLD!!!!!!
