Tim and Lesley Year of Million Compromises/TONS pics- 8/5 help me pg. 164!!!

Glad to hear it worked out for you guys too, I really am looking forward to it, should be fun. Only problem is one camera, oh well, it's coming with me and Lauren ;)
Lesley

Actually I should have clarified, that's what I'll put in my bag in the suitcase. For the parks, I will steal your towel idea for at night time. For sunscreen, we put that on before we leave the hotel, I never take the tour guide books. All that is in my bag is juice boxes, a few bottles of water, we grab maps at the parks, camera, wet wipes are a good idea, this is the first year I don't need those due to Lauren being potty trained:banana: . We then have another backpack that has our poncho's in it as well. I try to keep it to a minimum.
As for teh copies of tickets, I unfortunately know this from experience. This year we have a package so it doesn't need to be done. HOWEVER (time for a funny story) 3 trips ago when Luke was 3 and Lauren was 8 months and we stayed at POP, we booked hotel seperately and bought tickets seperately. I read on mousesavers to copy the front and backs of tickets because if they got lost that is the only way you could replace them. Fast forward to first morning at Disney, we are leaving the hotel, I have the stroller, everything ready to go, smiling from ear to ear ready for our first day in the parks. . . "Tim you have the tickets right?" . . .TOTAL look of panic in Tim's eyes:sad2: . . . .mad dash to the room safe. . . .TOTAL look of panic in my eyes and of course a "YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME:confused3 " remark.

Well, he had LEFT THEM IN THE SCANNER AT HOME, he was making copies of them, WE HAD THE COPIES fortunately but no tickets. I couldn't believe it. We high tailed it to the front desk at POP copies in hand and they told us we were in luck, since we had copied them they could replace them at the front counter of the park. We took them to customer service at MGM and they gave us replacement tickets.
Unfortunately that wasn't the ONLY time we lost tickets this trip, we also left Luke's ticket in a Fast Pass machine this trip and they replaced that for us at the front gate due to the copies as well, TONS OF BAD luck that trip, but oh well. ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS copy your tickets if you purchased them separately . . . .just be sure to bring the tickets too and put them in separate places (like, not at home in your scanner:laughing: )
Lesley

OMG!!!!!!!!
I can't believe he left them in the scanner!! :lmao: :rotfl: Thats hilarious--well hilarious now since everything came out Ok, but wow at the time  :scared1: :headache:

OMGoodness...definitely bring those wet wipes even if she is potty trained. I have found that we use the wipes for tons of things - wiping our hands off before eating, wiping the kids after eating  , wiping some tables or what not down...the list is endless and I never leave home w/o them anymore!!!

I guess I have to actually start with my packing list. I have to admit that I will pack our clothes though last minute because we always seem to wear our clothes right up to DW-day. I printed your list and am going to compare that with my Passholder SideKick list. I always hate that feeling that I "forgot" something.

OMG! I can't believe he left the tickets at home. I could just see me now giving DH the look of death. Remember copy of the tickets - check.

We actually never left ours in a FP machine, but we have got FP's, looked at the tickets later and they were invalid FP's. We had to go back in line scan the tickets again. Now, I remember check FP tickets immediately.

We don't pack much in the day bag as well. Just autograph books, water bottles, an umbrella (DH is too cool for a poncho), poncho's, kids sunscreen, and a couple snacks. When the kids are hungry, it is so much easier to tie them over with a granola bar then listen to them wine while we are waiting in a long line for food. I always leave the bag in the stroller. I have a fanny pack that I only use in WDW for the camera, tickets, money, and car keys. I could not imagine usng it all the time, just Disney.
I know, I couldn't believe it either, I was a "little";) ticked off at the time. Yes, front and back of the tickets - be sure to make a copy.
Granola bars are great for bags, fruit chewies are too. I will add the wipes to my bag and forgot the autograph books but that is in the bag too.

Yes I will include the wet wipes, great idea.
I do the same thing with clothes, that is the last thing I pack, especially for 10 days worth, I'll need every stitch of clothing, especially for those messy kids

Lesley,

I love how you have planned for you and Lauren to eat dinner while Tim and Luke eat somewhere else.

That will be some great mother/daughter ~ father/son time....:cool1:

Dottie

I am glad you are trying the Princess meal in Epcot, I heard it's really good. I hope it is! Still loving the report. I can't wait for you guys! We go every Feb and we are already excited for Feb 08 :goodvibes .

I'm subscribing to your pre-trip report! You guys seem like a GREAT family and I can't wait to hear more about your trip.

Your kids are sooo cute, I am so excited for the day my son is old enough to enjoy everything at WDW. We will be there this year for his 1st birthday...we've got to get him trained to love Disney as much as DH & I do :)

We did the Akershus princess meal two years ago and the kids loved it. TONS of princesses!! I finally started my pre-trip report. Now I am figuring out the picture thing! I scanned some very old pictures so now I am working on the sizing. The instructions on the board are confusing. I followed what they said and the pics are very small. It was the instructions for the signature pics, so now I have to re upload the pics in a larger size. :confused3 My list is pretty much complete also. Better be - I'm a month ahead of you!

OMG about the forgotten tickets:scared1: Everyone on these boards toots Tim's horn (deservately so) but I bet at that moment he was glad he was married to such a wonderfully organized and super planner woman extraordinaire:thumbsup2 :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I love how planned you are.

I've read most of your trip report from last year but had to hop over to your "pre-trip report" to see how planning was going for this year:thumbsup2 In the 50's now...time's going to FLY:cool1: :cool1:

Looking (quickly) over your itenary above I had a question on why you listed the cost/budge for food. I though I read earler that you were on the DDP...so won't that already be paid for? I see you're planning on Paying OOP some...but it seems like you should still have credits left at least for snacks and cs meals? Maybe I just need to take a closer look. ;) and see where all the credits are going.

I am glad too, I was going to just stick to 1900 Park Fare for Tim's sake, but I always want to try something new this year and this girl meal/boy meal will allow that to happen. I am glad you can live vicariously through me for now.

Thanks, if you read my trip report from last year you will see my night with Luke just the two of us and what a great Disney date he turned out to be at the age of 5, I wish for many Disney memories for you and your DS in years to come!

Very cool, I can't wait. I agree, the picture thing is SUPER confusing, I finally got the hang of it last year while doing my trip report. Glad you figured it out, I'll have to check out your PTR - see you there : )

Thanks, glad you love the planning, it takes a planner to appreciate it.
I know it must have gotten buried here but we like to REALLY live it up on vacations, so yes, we are on the DDP but we need breakfast every day and we eat large breakfasts to gear up for the park days so you see that budgeted and the snacks, for us the credits just don't cover the snacking we do each day, plus the bottled water, etc tat we need daily. That is what the budgeting is for. Also, like at Epcot, I like a drink, Tim likes a beer with dinner sometimes, etc. so we budget for that too;)

We got the camera too! ;) It made for very good pictures. I had read about the tea on UtahMama's and GlendaMax's and TwinkieMama's TR's. It was as good as the described it. It would be a good choice when Lauren gets older.

I can't believe Tim left the tickets in the scanner! :scared1: That sounds like something I would do!:sad2:

O.K. everyone, on your feet, it's dancing time!!!!

Today marks the 50's, 59 days until our 10 day Disney vacation!!!!!
:dance3: :yay: :cool1:   :cool1: :dance3: :yay: :cool1:

Thanks for the dance
Lesley

Dancing with ya'!!!! :cool1: :yay: :dance3: :woohoo: :cheer2: :yay:

Are you still looking for a Lion webkin? My local Hallmark said they were supposed to get a shipment of about 100 webkinz tomorrow. They don't know what kind until they get there, but would you want me to get you one? I could ship it to you. Send me a pm if you are interested.

Uhh Leslie....check your PM's
THANKS ;)

Leslie,

My DH was reading over my shoulder and when we came to your packing list, I shouted, "Ha! I'm not the only one! There are hundreds of Disney-Nuts just like me!", to which he replied that we should all be committed to the same nuthouse.

It gave me a great idea for you and Tim....(and me, too!)

We persuade Disney to create an extention of the DVC; call it the DRC: Disney Retirement Club!! :thumbsup2

A Retirement Villiage just for us aging DISers...right on property!!! :rotfl:

Whaddya think?
