Tim and Lesley Year of Million Compromises/TONS pics- 8/5 help me pg. 164!!!

Lovin' your pre-trip report! Yours was the first trip report I read after I joined DIS and I've saved alot of ideas from that. :thumbsup2

We'll be there 6/2-10 so it's helpful to get the perspective of someone who's been there at the same time/around the same time.

I'm also a big TGM fan and really look forward to testing out the ideas I've found there (this will be our first ever family trip and since I haven't been since I was 5, it's a whole new world)!

Looking forward to reading more! :cheer2:
Wow, the first one huh!?!?! I'm honored!!!! Bring the spray fans and poncho's for June but you will have a great time!!!! Also, just so you know gaydays will be going on at that time so I always go on gaydays.com to check out their website to avoid the very crowded areas where they go but I'm sure TGM already warned you about that ;) . Wow, you haven't been since you were 5 years old, You are going to have SO MUCH FUN!!!!

Tiffany,
Thanks so much. I am so happy to have you "on board". I just went over and read your TR and posted, we have so much in common it is crazy, hope we do cross paths.
Tim was excited you found his Jack and Diane song, he was proud of that one. You will love WCC, it is awesome, once you step inside WL though start planning a trip for there, you will fall in LOVE! I'll have to look for you in the TGM forums, I'll check out your report to see what you are doing fo ryour Tim on Father's Day, we're doing Tim's favorite concourse Steakhouse for that meal, we were there last F-day too and he wants to go back.
Lesley

O.K., so my latest dilema/question/concern is our meal the first day we arrive. Right now I have us going from the plane to MGM studios and I have us eating early at 50's Primetime (I just changed this yesterday from Sci Fi to 50's Primetime). I wanted a 5:00 early dinner so we could get back to see our room and relax after a long day of travel and no naps for the kids. Any ideas/suggestions since we'll be at MGM (already doing Mama's another night) that would be easy to get to from there and get us back to POFQ??

Oohh I can't wait to go to WCC! Iam very excited to see WL. I thought it was beautiful from the outside when we went on the boat to Hoop last year. I loved your pics of the room in your trip report. It looks like such a beautiful resort. I am hoping that once we go there that will help me be able to talk DH into it!! It didn't take much convincing to upgrade from a value to a mod but I may have to do some :wizard: to get to stay there ;) Ok back to reading your pretrip report, I had to leave it at page 11, but I did do an update on my report, and THANK YOU for your sweet comments!!!!
Oh ya..for Fathers Day present I booked DH the 8 lap Richard Petty Driving Experience. :cheer2: I couldn't keep it a secret! he already knows. Plus I htought he might notice the $400 missing from the checkbook....he better remember this come Mothers Day ;) :rotfl:

So you want to change your ADR from Primetime to something else?

When i went on my last trip i enjoyed Primetime. My pot roast was a little fatty, but its a cute atmosphere :) Maybe go CS for the night? Or make an ADR for Boatwrights at POR. I've heard really good things about Dinner, We ate breakfast there and it was the most relaxing meal of the trip. Not to menton the superior service. If it's hot after Boatwrights, you can take a swim at the pool (since you can use both pools at POFQ and POR) It's only a 2 minute walk from Boatwrights over the bridge. OR Since the baot dock is right near the restaurant, maybe take the boat to DD for a relaxing stroll?

Lesley,

I read your first trip report and have to comment on the picture. OMG...is it really that busy? I'm very scared. :scared1: We've been during peak seasons before but I've never seen it like that, although it was years ago.

We had originally planned December, then November, then May, now it is definately the last 2 weeks of August. I just didn't have the guts to pull my kids out of school (I'm a wimp). We went in September last year and the parks were great, so I'm a little nervous after seeing your picture. I truly hope I didn't make a mistake.

Oh yeah, for fathers day, i dont know if hes into it, but what about booking him a massage at the grand floridian?

O.K., you are right, the food was good last time we were at Primetime, I just was angry we were stuck in that back room, if we wait for a t.v. table it should be a better time and the kids should like it, I'll just stay put.
As for the Father's Day massage, that is a great idea, any clue how much that costs and how to make ressies?

I don't want to scare you off, but yes at times it is that busy, that is why I rely so heavily on TGM. Take in mind that this was right at rope drop though which is crazy, it is like this at parade times too. I love Epcot because it is so spread out so it doesn't feel crowded.
It will be fine, it's Disney!!!! You'll have a BLAST.

Yaaay I finally finished reading all this report!

I have to admit that I was extremely freaked out about the pic from your first trip. I was sitting here thinking..oh please tell me this is pre-TGM!

I am glad to hear Tim is home and doing better! I know how scary it is to have your DH in the hospital and the kids really don't understand so I am glad things are going better.

That countdown calendar is awesome! Since Tim is being so generous, I will definelty be PM'ing you my e-mail addy to beg for a copy :)

We are going to be in AK the same day I noticed. On the TGM June board on a post about fathers day I casually joked something about Tusker House at 1130 (I think) since so many were going to be in AK that day, several people reported that it should happen, so maybe we should try for something official??? I think it would be a blast!!!

Oh and before I forget, I loved what you did at Luke's school! That was precious!!! :goodvibes
I am also a little jealous that you are eating at Ohana's i want to try this one so bad, but I am going to book it for October.
We also have a Fantasmic dinner package booked, I was excited about being able to order off the regular menu....one single reason...the bruchetta appetizer, LOL!! I love that stuff!!!
Can't wait to see how many more times you adjust your schedule!! :lmao:
Tif

Hi Lesley, just wanted to say thank you for your advice about getting into Chef Mickey's it worked:cool1: I was able to change from an 8:20 ressie to 6:40! So thank you:flower3: I also just wanted to say that I think getting a TV table at Prime Time makes all the difference. We have eaten there twice. The 1st time we had a tv booth and then the 2nd time we were put in the back room. I complained and moaned and groaned worse than my kids ever would:rotfl: so DH said never again unless we sit at a tv table! So I'm with you we will wait as long is necessary!;)

Hi Lesley, I was just wondering if you received my schedule? I did email it to you. Just wondering it you got it? I did get Tims AWESOME countdown calendar!!!!
THANK YOU
Angela

Glad you finished it. Actually that picture was pre-TGM but I would do it the same because it was right at rope drop at MK which I do with TGM anyway, just crazy that time of day, but once you get past Main Street it's o.k., we've had the same crowds at every park at rope drop in June.
You will love O'Hana's it is the best! I'm looking forward to trying bruchetta at Mama's too, and ordering from th emenu.
We'll have to see eachother at AK on Father's Day. I told Tim to check PM's and send you your calendar, hopefully he did, if you don't get it in a few days send me an email.
Thanks,
Lesley

Soooo glad it worked out for you, persistence pays of when it comes to Disney!!!! I will definitely wait for a t.v. table this year.
