Tim and Lesley Year of Million Compromises/TONS pics- 8/5 help me pg. 164!!!

LOL ok that was really fun to read! Tim and Lesley you two are so much fun....please plan another trip to Disney ASAP so we can all keep NOT WORKING AT WORK! :woohoo:

 we're just going for the weekend in september. my "peeps" (it's a weight loss forum i'm on here) are having a "peep meet" and i wanted to go to that. so me and a friend were talking about what we were gonna do for her 30th birthday and i suggested a weekend at disney with free dining. well, to make a long story short, we didn't get the free dining, but we are staying at OKW for free with a wonderful DISer who offered up her extra bed. :cool1: couldn't pass that up!!!
Man, i need some "peeps" like that! HOW COOL!!! Have fun!
Lesley

Great Update Lesley!:thumbsup2 So cute how Lauren fell asleep! Don't ya just love how easy kids can just nod off, wish it was that easy for adults! I love how you got to meet some Dis'ers! That was sweet of Darlene and John to buy the wands for the kids! Man o man did Tim have the Dream Teams number or what! Wish he was with us on our trip:rotfl: Tell Tim that being from Jersey we are HUGE Yankee fans and I smell a comeback baby:thumbsup2 As always LOVING your report and can't wait for more!
It was a peaceful meal, it was fun meeting Disers this trip. Tim loved your Yankee comment.
Lesley
MMMMMMM Le Cellier looks soooo yummy! I think that we might try for a ressie there next year!

I can't believe the bus stop at Epcot! thanks for the tip though. I'll keep that in mind!

as always great pictures, and I can't wait for more!
LeCellier is Yummy, try it!!!!
Lesley

Hi Lesley,

I know you mentioned in your pre TR that you all where going to maybe try and do a EMH pm at the MK one night? I don't know if I missed it or am jumping ahead. But did you go to one and ride the rides? How was the crowd level? Also just wondering when you all did go back out at night for dinner and parades/fireworks did you also do some rides? Thanks again for the info just trying to plan how much we might be able to do in a day etc...
We didn't end up doing it, we were just to tired at the end of each day.
Lesley
Lesley, I love how you are updating this report often with great details and wonderful photos. Thank you so much for sharing with us.

Those steaks look divine. Yummy!! How sweet little Lauren is snoozing. And thanks for the park to park bus tip. This I did not know either!
Glad you are enjying it. Those steaks are divine! The park to park bus tip was huge for me this year too when I discovered it so thought I'd pass it on!
Lesley
The food looks wonderful! I tried to get in to Le Cellier when my husband and I went in June but they where booked and when we go in August we aren't going to any parks so I guess I will have to wait until Nov. 2008. The dessert (smores) looks sooooo good! Poor Lauren she looks wiped out! I could not imagine having to wait 2 hours for a bus with two tired kids. Our kids where always wiped out by the end of the night and I prayed that we would have a seat on the bus and we always got lucky. Good thinking with the bus hopping!!! You are giving us all lots of great tips!!!:)
Give it a try in Nov 2008, i'm sure it will still be great. The bus waiting stunk, the transfer to MGM saved us big time!
Lesley

YEs, great idea! I may be using this! Thanks!

Yes, you do. I"m not sure you realize exactly how much help you are! The info in your TR reads like a novel so it is fun, but it is packed full of tips and ideas. You share experiences, good and bad, so we learn what to do and what not to do! You even answer every single post, to make us all feel the magic and feel special! You are a HUGE help!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 Thanks so much for your time and caring about us!:grouphug:
Glad you enjoy it. I love to help. I actually did start my book, it is entitled "TAKE YOUR FAMILY TO DISNEY" subtitle: "Your ultimate guide to making magical memories with your family" I also have on the front cover "full of great tips other tour guides leave out to make your vacation memorable and magical for your children" I have the chapter outline all ready to go with 12 chapters now I just need to find time to write it and see if anyone would be interesting in publishing, it really is my dream.
Lesley

Hey Lesley, I know this is your TR, but I had to share this picture. This is how we spent most meals last year at WDW. This is why we will be taking your advice and having a nice break every day. It's peaceful when they sleep, but we have the DDP credits, and it's harder to pay for food later when they're hungry b/c they missed the TS meal. Lauren sure is cute though!
That picture was halarious!!!! I completely understand, yes, take the breaks and save everyone the headache you will have a much happier trip!
Lesley

Enjoyed reading about your evening. Lauren looked like a peaceful princess:

If you are like us you hate it when the kids sleep through most of the meal but you do get to enjoy yourself a little bit more....lol

I know it was a shock to see the lines for the bus. It probably did not help that you have to share with another resort. That is probably the main reason we won't stay at POFQ. The resort looks beautiful but I don't think I could deal with the bus issues.

We had the same shock when we saw the line for the bus after Fantasmic one evening. I actually considered calling a taxi. We waited for the bus instead. Now I know your little trick....lol:cool1:
It was a shock to see the line for the bus, I did say to Tim "wonder what a taxi costs" we were at that point! Luckily the trick popped into my head quickly and saved us.
Lesley

I am so glad I got a Le Cellier Ressie! Great pictures and reviews. Good thing I read them over my lunch break at work, or I'd be starving right now. :)

Thanks so much for the bus tip. The one time I went to Illuminations in the past, it was an absolute zoo afterwards. So much that I almost decided against seeing Illuminations this time. It's good to know about a transportation trick like that. Makes me feel better about trying it again.
I'm glad you are gonna try LeCellier too, you will love it. Try Illuminations again and keep that trick in mind, worked great for us.
Lesley
Your pics are SO cute - of course, I guess it helps that you have your cute kids and WDW as subject matter!!

Until I read your report, I had never been the least bit interested in Le Cellier, but you've piqued my interest.

That's insane about the bus line at Epcot!:scared1: Good thinking on the MGM solution, though. :thumbsup2

Thanks again for such a great TR!!
So glad you are enjoying it, give LeCellier a try you won't be disappointed.
Lesley

Lesley---
How cool that you got to meet 2angelsinheaven and her DH! I thought that they looked familiar in the pics and then I realized that she posts on this TR. How cool! :thumbsup2

I am so glad that you enjoyed Le Cellier! It is my DH's favorite restaurants at WDW. We go there every trip. IT is yummy! I love the cheese soup with the pretzel breadstick! popcorn::

Lauren looked so sweet sleeping! What an angel. I hope that her eye is ok.
That was really sweet of that CM to make Luke think he was really starting Illuminations!:goodvibes :goodvibes

Ugh...the bus stop for POR/POFQ.:sad2: I noticed that on our last trip that the bus stop que was ridiculously long every night of our trip. I felt so bad for all those people in that line. I was actually happy that I was staying at Pop.:rotfl: The Port Orleans Resorts more frequent pick-ups at night....at least that is how it looks to me.
I agree, that cheese soup and pretzel breadsticks ROCK! Her eye is fine, was fine really that day she is just a band aid NUT and didn't want me to take it off. That CM was super sweet, what Disney is all about. MK bus stop to POR/POFQ is the only one that separates it, it wasn't a problem during the day but after night events it was lousy.
Lesley
Lesley- I cannot wait till tomorrow's installment. Another dream???!!! Great tip about watching Illuminations near Morocco. We are eating at Marrakech the first night at 7 pm so that will work out perfectly. I agree you need to make a sticky tip sheet. Do you have anything like that on your myspace page?

BTW Check out my sig pic. My kids and dh are avid Sox fans so they gave a big thumbs down in front of the Yankees store in Times Square. My dd favorite saying is Red Sox rule, Yankees drool.
Yes, Morocco turned out to be a great place to watch. I don't have a sticky tip sheet but I am working on my book right now which will include all of my tips. I'm trying to get an angle over the already published guides, mine would have much more tips and things specifically geared for families that the tour books just leave out, I am hoping someone will publish it.
Lesley

Glad everyone enjoyed Tim's song. He's out at the new Harry Potter movie right now so I'll share your comments with him when he returns, keep em' comin' he'll be thrilled. Glad you enjoyed it, he is a pretty funny guy, one of the reasons I married him, anyone who can keep you laughing is pretty great to be around!:thumbsup2
Lesley

O.K., so per request, another Tim original
Sing this to the tune of "Part of Your World" from Little Mermaid:
Look at this ears
Aren’t they neat?
Wouldn't you think my dream collection's complete?
Wouldn't you think I'm the guyl
The guy who has everything?

Look at this list of dreams
Surprises untold
How many dreams can one Dream Bag hold?
Looking around here you'd think
Sure, he’s got plenty of dreams

I've got fastpasses and autograph’s a-plenty
I've got trading pins and spray fans galore
[You want Mickey Mouse Ponchos? I've got 20!]

But who cares?
No big deal
I want more

I wanna be where the Dream Team are
I wanna see
Wanna see 'em giving away Dreams
Walking around with those
[What do you call 'em? oh, Dream Vests!]

Begging for dreams you don't get to far
Luck is required for winning or losing
strolling along down the
[What's that word again?] Main Street

There where they walk
Here where I run
Watching and waiting all day in the sun
Wandering free
Wish I could be
Part of that Dream

What would I give
If I could live
Up in that Castle?
What would I pay
To spend a day
Holding Mickey’s hand?
Bet'cha at Disney
They understand
Bet they don't make you wait in lines.
Bright young men
Sick of losing

Ready to WIN!!!

And ready to know what the Dream Team know
Ask 'em my questions and get some answers
What's a Dream Fastpass and how does it
[What's the word?] work
When's it my turn?
Wouldn't I love
Love to explore the Castle up above?

Out of the crowd
Wish I could be
Part of that parade

What would I give to live in the Castle
What would I pay to stay here with Mickey
What would I do to see you, Dreaming with me
Where would we walk
Where would we run
If we could avoid all day in the sun
Just you and me
And I could be..
Part of your
DREAM!!!!!

I don't know when
I don't know how
But I know something's starting right now
Watch and you'll see
Someday I'll be
Part of your
DREAM!!!!!!

Tim

Great Song, When will get the Music Video to go up on YouTube?

loved loved loved the song!!!
My DH is a very funny and witty guy, but I don't think he could've pulled that off as well as Tim did!!!
On no, I am in trouble if he read that-he will want to host a Cincinnati song writing contest to Disney tunes!!:lmao:

We should have a Cincinnati DISser's meet. :) You guys seem like a lot of fun! I was glad to see your great review of Le Cellier. We didn't make an ADR for this past trip, but I am definitely making one for next spring/summer, whenever we decide to go. I am waffling between WL for our oldest's 7th birthday in June, or doing a moderate (CSR maybe because of the bus thing) in July/August. I will be interested to see what you guys decide in terms of longer vacation/cheaper resort or shorter vacation/deluxe. If only we could afford twice a year, then I could definitely do a value for one trip and a deluxe for another. I just need to find a way to fund my Disney habit--staying at home doesn't pay too well in the cash department!

Tim - That song is fantastic! We just watched The Little Mermaid the other night so I was singing the song in my head! Oh and please let us know what you thought of the new Harry Potter movie! We are hoping to go this weekend!

Lesley - I am SO excited to hear you are actually going to write your book! I would buy a bunch and give them out as Christmas gifts!!!
Some how some way with all of these DIS people here we should be able to find someone to publish your book!

Tim & Lesley - You two are a great couple and have a wonderful family! I have been talking about you to my husband. We have actually spoken about wanting another child. I love your family of four! You two compliment each other so well! What great role models you are for your kids!

:rotfl: OMG- that is too funny! Maybe one chapter of Lesley's book can be Tim's songs! Very clever!

I love being a goofball, just give me an excuse and I'm off!! - Tim

Tim, you really need to start your own songbook...

Thanks, I just might, but I don't want to show up Les! - Tim

Great song Tim:rotfl:

THNK YOU!!!! - Tim

[insert clapping hands] [insert standing ovation] WOW, Tim, you REALLY came through for us! :thumbsup2 I am truly impressed. I think you've outdone your first song. Now I'm going to think of this song as I am walking along scoping out the Dream Squad. :cool1:

This is me taking a bow.............thank you, I had a lot of fun doing it! Pick another song and I'll go to work!! -Tim

OMG, love it. Tim have you considered Stand Up Comedy?

Sit down comedy yes, too lazy for stand up!! - Tim

:lmao: :lmao: Too funny, Tim!

Thank you, my CD will be out next month entitled: "Overweight Man Sings Disney Classics, But He Changes The Words" I'm sure it will be a huge hit with the deaf community. LOL!! - Tim

Tim- Love the song.....:music:
Thanks for the info and laughs :lmao:

Anytime...they're free and zero calories. - Tim

Love It!!

Thank you!!! - Tim

Nice moves guys!!! Thanks!!! - Tim

DO NOT tempt me!!! I already have all the Little Mermaid bling from Lauren. - Tim

We are like Sonny and Cher, but with better clothes and more fans. :-) - Tim

I finally got a bit of free time and I throughly enjoyed your updates!! A good thing about reading them late is that I can enjoy all the comments!! Thanks for a great half hour!!!:woohoo:

I'm talking so much today, I should have multi-quoted. . . sorry. . .

I would buy your book, absolutely. But as a DIS member, can I request a signed edition???

Don't forget to add the chapter of Magical Moments in Song with Tim. . .

Yeah, my parents wanted to know why we had so many pictures of Abigail's rump! :rotfl:

Of course I would get you Disers signed copies!!! So far I have my cover, forward and Chapter titles done. I found two publishers who seem to publish this market. Now I just need to convince them my book will be different and have a new twist on the others out there, I think it defnitely does but I need to convince them of that. I have a friend who has published several books so I gave him a call and want to sit down with him this week so he can help me with my proposal to send out to the publishers, I will keep you updated!

You might want to bring copies of some of what you've done on here, and what we've said, seeing the "reader response" couldn't be bad. . . kinda like a portfolio. . .

Awesome song! I actually found myself singing out loud with the new words!
I would love to get a sneak peak copy of your book and help with editing or suggestions!! I could be a guest author with input for traveling on the off season of September or 1st of December!!!:rotfl: :rotfl:
Let me know if you need help!:grouphug:

Great song Tim!!!! I really enjoyed it:cool1:

I'm sure your book would sell great Lesley! I enjoy reading your reports and I'm sure others would too.....:thumbsup2

We should do a Dis meet. I think we see it differently Tim and I. For me, I'd rather stay longer and go back to POFQ, for Tim he'd rather stay deluxe for shorter periods, we'll see what we end up doing next year, since we're going in July for our anniversary (kids or not, we haven't decided yet) it will probably be deluxe!

so funny, we are now inspring others to have children, don't know if I want that responsibility:rotfl: so glad you are enjoying it, I hope the book gets published, I'll let you know. it will be different than the trip reports, more tips, less trip reporting, but a step by step guide and tips for planning with families, etc. A lot of the same tips I gave out on here.

Day 8:
Today was the day where we didn’t set the alarm and we told ourselves we could sleep in. Well, wouldn’t you know it that our bodies had adjusted to getting up early, or maybe it was just the Disney adrenaline that is always pumping when we are in Disney. Anyway,Tim ended up waking up first, I hit the shower and when I got out the kids were awake, we ended up getting to the bus stop by 8:30 we couldn’t believe it! We didn’t stop at POR this time for some reason so we were to MGM by 8:45, YEAH!!! It wasn’t nearly as crowded as Star Wars Weekends and we were hoping and praying that Rockin’ Roller Coaster would be up and running. I grabbed a stroller and we waited at rope drop, when they dropped the rope people got a bit aggressive, I hate it when they cut through the stores and then aggressively cut you off, not cool! We made it to Rockin’ Roller Coaster AND IT WAS OPEN!!!!
Photo1Small-4.jpg

Photo2Small-4.jpg

I headed to the standby line with the kids in the stroller, Tim was at the far left Fast Pass machine getting Fast Passes by the standby line, and this was in perfect Disney harmonization (if that is a word) I made it up to the front of the line, showed the CM the kids in the stroller and asked for a Parent Swap pass, grabbed the swap pass, handed it to Tim, handed Tim the stroller with the children and I was on my way in to Rockin’ Roller Coaster. I can’t put into words how much I love this ride, the theming is INCREDIBLE, pre show AWESOME:
Photo3Small-4.jpg

The way it counts you down and rockets you off AWESOME!
Photo4Small-5.jpg

Nothing makes me scream with a smile on my face like Rockin’ Roller Coaster:
Photo5Small-5.jpg

What an awesome time, I could ride that all day long!!!
After I was done I got off and Tim went on using the Parent swap pass so now we had extra Fast Passes to use later- SCORE!!!
Here is Tim’s post ride photo:
Photo6Small-5.jpg

After we were done we headed to the Great Movie Ride:
Photo7Small-5.jpg

As we were waiting in line and we got close to the doors I saw two ladies inside the double doors with dream vests on and I said to Tim “THE DREAM TEAM IS IN THERE!!!” He didn’t seem to believe me, he said that if it was I wouldn’t have been able to see them. I thought for sure it was them. As we got into the car I looked up and saw the ladies standing behind a pole, I said “Tim, SEE it is the Dream Team” he looked at them and waved like they were the best of friends – too funny. We were so excited thinking we would get a dream, I was thrilled. Well, they weren’t moving and our tour guide was now on our vehicle and we started moving. NOOOOOOOOOO can it be??? I was so devastated. We talked to the ladies later when we saw them in the Animation Tour and they told us it was the car behind us!!!! Can you believe that!?! As we pulled away Tim held his hands up to the ladies like Ariel does in the Philarmagic show as she says "I want More" and they put their hands back out to him like they were sorry, too funny. We were soooooo close! Anyway, we enjoyed the ride regardless, here is my favorite room in the ride:
Photo9Small-5.jpg

This is not a ride for small children, it still freaks Luke out a bit during the shooting scene, I held Lauren on my lap knowing what was coming and closed her eyes against my chest during the Alien scene and shooting scenes, she loved the “happy” scenes.
On our way out of the ride we picked up a giant pretzel:
Photo10Small-4.jpg

Then we headed into the animation Tour, it was funny. It was updated with a preview for Ratatouille (spelling??)
We saw Mr. Incredible and went right to him:
Photo11Small-4.jpg

Lauren loved him and he gave her a big kiss (she loved that!!!):
Photo12Small-4.jpg

We then had fun putting our voices into the machines:
Photo14Small-4.jpg

Tim posed by the new set inside:
Photo13Small-4.jpg

Then we spotted those same dream team members without their vests. They were talking to another family. This is when Tim approached them and had a long conversation with them about their job, found out that it was the car behind us that morning at the Great Movie Ride, etc. He had a good conversation with “his ladies : )” Then we were shocked when Remi and Emile came out, turns out we were there for their debut. We were the very first guests to see them, how exciting!!! As we waited there the dream team ladies approached that same family who they were talking before, it was a mom, dad and a little boy. The dream team had gotten the boy an autograph book so he could get signatures from the characters,he was THRILLED with this and the parents of course thought it was awesome too, very cool to see, gotta love the dream team!
It was our turn to see the rats:
Photo15Small-4.jpg

Photo16Small-4.jpg

As we were getting our pictures taken of course Tim was looking at his dream team ladies and he saw them get the “call” for a dream and head out so of course we were curious where they were headed too.
Then we looked up and saw that Frozone had come out so we headed up there because Luke wanted to see him:
Photo17Small-4.jpg

We then headed out of the Animation Tour and we were headed over to the Pizza Planet for lunch, on our way we passed Narnia, we had never been in there and we were thinking “hey, dream team could have gone in there right!?!” so we went in. I had wanted to see this , we are big fans of the movie, so we went through the wardrobe and were in Narnia:
Photo19Small-4.jpg

The ice witch appeared from the top, (really bad/blurry picture because they don’t allow flash photography in there) but she is a real person and looks just like the ice witch!!!
Photo20Small-4.jpg

Overall it was interesting, if you are a big fan of the movies it is cool to walk through the wardrobe, experience Narnia and see the Ice Witch but definitely nothing to write home about, Tim seemed disappointed, we did enjoy the previews they show of the next Narnia movie.

So we continued on our way to Pizza planet for lunch, on our way there we ran into Jojo and Goliath:
Photo21Small-4.jpg

Photo22Small-4.jpg

Photo23Small-4.jpg

Then next to their trailer was the Little Einstein trailer and Quincy was standing there, there was absolutely NO line for him so I asked the CM “did you stop the line?” and he said “no, there isn’t one” that doesn’t say much for Little Einsteins fame but heck I didn’t want to wait in line anyway, the kids were happy to see him!

Photo25Small-3.jpg

So we were finally on our way to Pizza Planet and we were hungry.
Luke happy at the restaurant:
Photo26Small-5.jpg

As usual, I did my run for the food :
Photo29Small-5.jpg

Tim took silly pics of the kids as they waited:
Photo28Small-5.jpg

For the record, this is by FAR the best counter service deal for kids around, they don’t distinguish kids and adult meals so the pizza deal the adults get is the same for the kids, if I were smart I would have saved 2 credits and split the food, it was wayyyyy to much and it went to waste. EACH of us got a personal pizza, a salad a drink and a desert, so keep that in mind when you go there – great place to save a counter service credit for later.

Gotta take a pic of these guys (Claw is our master. . .):
Photo30Small-4.jpg

Here is the yummy pizza:
Photo31Small-4.jpg

This is always a hard meal to get the kids to eat because they want to hurry and finish so they can play, all the more reason I should have saved those counter service credits, oh well, ya live and you learn and you pass it on so you guys can learn from my mistake.
So. . .we made it downstairs for playtime:
Photo32Small-4.jpg

Lauren had a BLAST on the dance dance revolution machine, SHE LOVES THOSE THINGS!!!!
Photo34Small-4.jpg

Photo33Small-4.jpg

O.K., so I decided the pictures just don’t do it justice here she is working it
(now, bear in mind the machine isn’t even on, you can hear Tim cheering her on in the background as he is shooting):

After lunch we headed towards the Beauty and the Beast show, I just LOVE this show. On our way there we spotted an act in the street, this show was HALARIOUS.
Photo35Small-4.jpg

We ended up sitting on the bench and watching the entire show. These actors and actresses are SOOOO talented. It was the lady pictured and two guys who had formed a music group and are “friends forever” and then you watch them disintegrate and break up and get back together all in the show, it was absolutely hysterical. At one point she came behind Tim and cried on his shoulder, I tried to snap a pic with Tim in it while she was behind him, this is what I got:
Photo36Small-4.jpg

Anyway, if you are walking around MGM and see these guys, take a seat, it is a funny funny show, the kids even thought so.
We made it to Beauty and the Beast. The warm up act, 4 for a dollar had us in awe, they are GREAT!!! They didn’t do that last year when I saw the show so that was a pleasant surprise as we were waiting for the show to start. I took these pretty pictures of the show, WHAT A GREAT SHOW, if you haven’t seen it, definitely do!

We had reservations for Mama Melrose this night and our original plan was to stay at MGM all day, at this point it was around 2:00 and it was hot and all of a sudden I realized staying in the park all day wasn’t in our best interest, we made a quick decision to take the afternoon off and swim, the kids were ESTATIC!!! So we headed to the exit. The kids thought it was funny to pretend to sell the fake cokes by the exit:

Coming up an afternoon at the pool, tons of pool pics and more POFQ pics, Mama Melrose dinner, run in with a Diser at dinner, Fantasmic drama and wheelchair madness!!!!! Stay tuned!!!!
