Tiki Room Original or New Version

Sorry, but I just can't take the caustic humor of the new version at all! The show starts out in the vein of the old show, then quickly switches over to the new version. That's when I'm about ready to squawk myself! I can't stand Iago (spelling?), and it makes me really sad to see something so cute completely ruined. I don't think Walt would approve....

I actually like the new one (ducking as people throw things at me). But I have to admit that I only saw the olld one a couple of times, and I don't remember it well. I can, however, sing the entire song b/c of the old record I listen to (yep, an LP!!).

Never saw the old one, but I remember neighbor kids telling us how boring it was. We enjoy the new one, but don't necessarily see it every time we go. I always seem to miss the preshow outside, we usually walk up as they are letting people in.

This is a case of reconstructive memory! We went to the Old Tiki Room show in DL in FEb 03, and those birds go on and on and on. Now I do like the Hawaiian War Chant, but Lets All Sing Like the Birdies Sing really is not sweet or nostalgic for me -- it's just LOOONG. And you sit on chairs! A strong positive vote for the new show!

I preferred the original Tiki Room - I really loved that show, corny as it was. I still go to the new version occasionally, but only for the few minutes of the Original Tiki Room song.....

this is a no-brainer. original tiki room.
that catchy theme song is clever and timeless.
the updated parrot comedy seems unnecessary.

one thing i did notice that freaked me out. as you're on your way into the tiki room, in the line outside, one of the parrots' voices is done by the late comedian phil hartman. it's a little freaky to hear his voice given his death.

I am a true Disney fan and generally much prefer the old and original but this is one case I prefer the new version. I certainly understand those that prefer the original but this is just my personal taste. It is one attractions we visit on almost every trip.

I prefer the original. I remember seeing the Disney tv shows when they were developing animatronic technology and scenes from the DLR Tiki room.

I happen to think Iago is a funny character and while I agree Gilbert Gottfried can be irritating, he makes me laugh

It would be interesting to know the number of people that annually attended the original version compared to the new version.

The original one is my favorite, by far.

The new one is irreverent and not at all in line with Walt's design. This is a good example of one of the few times the Imagineers have blown it.

I also prefer the original version.

Maybe Disney will figure it out like they did with Figment in Epcot. Although the new Imagination ride in Epcot is not quite as good as the original, its good to see Figment again.

I wish they would bring back more of the original Tiki room, or at least get rid of the parts that scare small children.

We still have the original playing here at DLR. I prefer the original to the new version for one very simple reason..........I despise Gilbert Gottfried. And now I know why I dislike the movie Aladdin so much!

I love the old version! I want it back! Last time i saw it i was 7...can Disney bring it back?
