I can take or leave it, others in the family love it. I liked the old version; now when Gilbert Gottfried starts up, I wish I had earplugs.
It used to be really cute and enjoyable for the kids -a nice break. Now it is so loud and annoying. I don't plan to take my kids to it- the loud noises and scary effects will frighten them.

I really enjoyed the origional version. I like that Disney tried to update it, however, I, like many others think the new version is a little obnoxious. Disney has a few new birds it can throw in from some of it's newer movies, but they should not take over the whole show, especially someone like Gilbert Godfreid. They should tone it down a little. But I still like it.

Loved the original, but enjoy this one also.

Tiki Birds is a must do every visit. :rotfl:

Love the Tiki Room (under new management)!

It's a must see every visit!

We also love the Tiki Birds. We like the newer version much better than the older one. :flower:

I like the tiki birds. Always have. I remember going with my family when I was just a kid. And it being so hot outside but it always seemed so cool inside. Even today, when the thunderstorms start up, I get that same feeling. It's just hard to explain.

OK, now you have me singing!!! I will admit I liked the original better, but that may be only because that is what I grew up with. However, I still enjoy it, partly I think because it is so cheesy, but mostly because DS3 loves it! He asks me to pull up the link to it on the official WDW site so he can sing along.

I like the new version - I don't remember seeing the old version (even thought I know I did when I was little) I used to HATE Gilbert Godfred but I like him as Iago.

I love the tiki birds. Why? I have no idea but I do. I liked the original version better but the newer version isn't bad. I make it a must whenever I go. Gilbert Gottfried's voice annoys me but I can deal with it just long enough. Of course after the tiki birds I get a citrus swirl, yum! And for some reason all day I have been singing this song.

It takes me back to 1963 when I did see the original in DL and was enchanted with it all. I don't enjoy the new version as much as the original, but I do like it. We see it about every 2 years now.

Like most have said, it's a good place to cool down. While we wouldn't wait a long time for it, we do try to check it out each visit. We usually wait, till the ride is about to let in, till we get in line. It's funny to watch people faces thinking they will get a better seat, especially being first in line. :rotfl2: Only to then realize any seat is great, once inside.
I do miss the original though. The biggest reason is, I remember, feeling like you were actually part of their world. The way you walked in, and having the environment all around you, made me feel like I wasn't in Magic Kingdom anymore, an instead, in the tropics. It was sweet and funny, and seemed realistic.
I have the same feeling about Figment too. Bring back the originals!

Me and dh slipped on it one evening. We didn't know what it was, we saw there was no line so we went on.

I thought the little song was catchy "We're in the tiki, tiki, tiki room" or whatever it was. The end was a little cheesy.

Jake said it was stupid, but I thought it was cute. I think little kids would really enjoy it.

i love it!!!! one of the few attractions i recall very vividly from my first visit over 20 years ago. (ok - more like 25 at this point) I remember my mom loving it and dragging us in there over and over. (my only other vivid memories were the beef tips at the crystal palace which at the time was cafeteria style and jiminy giving me a hug on main street.)

don't like the new one as much, but better than having it go away entirely.

"welcome to our tropical hideaway, you lucky people you...." come on you know the rest!

I LOVED the original one as a kid--especially the pre-show entertainment, when you were standing (or sitting on the rails, as I did) and waiting to go in. I loved the darkness of the theater, the catchy song, feeling like it was really raining...but I just can't get into the new one. I thought it was fine without the new characters...but I'm probably just attached to my lovely memories. I'd give up Buzz Lightyear to have Eastern's "If You Had Wings" back...

The original was ok.....I really dislike the new one.....that Gilbert Gottfried voice? Very annoying.....

We love it. While it's not a 'must see,' we try to make it to at least one show every visit. My dh gets a little annoyed by the end of the day, however, since I am still singing the song!!! :rolleyes1

once you are there....you sing that song all day and all night. You wake up the next day and you are still singing it. :rotfl2:
