Oh Tigger...why, why, why??? I can't believe Tigger would do such a horrible thing. Don't expect to see Tigger at the parks for a long, long time. I wonder if Tigger will share a jail cell with Martha Stewart? I never thought the day would come when taking a picture with the Disney characters would involve saying, "Hey, watch the hands!!" I'm glad Walt isn't here to see this.

Shame on you Tigger! Pooh is very upset with you!

Somebody wears Mickey Colored glasses I think we all assumed that it was the person who wears the costume and not the charactor.

I heard about it on the local radio. The whole thing seems a bit "off". I think it is another case of someone out to get something from the Mouse.

It seems someone else has their Disney colored glasses on as well. If you read the article, it seems that the suspect has actually admitted it and is apologizing. Why do people think that Disney is perfect and "NOTHING" can go wrong there. The last time I checked, their employees are human and as such, they can have some bad people working there just as there are bad people working at alot of places. As long as Disney did not have previous complaints on this employee, i can not fault them. However, if they did have previous complaints, they better get out their pocket book.

A few years ago we had a somewhat similar case at a local Six Flags. On employee was caught fondling young children as he helped load them into kiddie rides.

It raised all sorts of issues regarding background checks and monitoring of employees.

I would imagine the same issues will not arrise with Disney.

If you haven't seen them, the police reports are disturbing.

A choice quote:

Followed up by:
"The defendant admitted that he has someone take photographs of him while he is in character. ... The defendant invited me in and gave me six envelopes of pictures and one envelope containing disks of photographs."

Umm. "has someone take photographs of him"? Does not sound right to me.

While im no fan of eisner, i wouldnt blame this on him!!!
The person to blame is the person who committed this crime. The only blame disney would have is if they had prior problems of the similiar kind with this employee and took no action, but there is nothing to indicate that is the case.
As with any company. escpecially one as large as disney you are going to have people like this fall thru the cracks no matter how tough your screening process is.
Will disney be sued, yes i believe it is likely to happen because they have deep pockets, but it is the criminal who should pay for his actions and not the disney company who didnt consent or encourage this type of behavior.

... so I guess Tiggers are not JUST"bouncy trouncy" HUH?? I always wondered about that spring in his tail.

I would not however blame Eisner for this but rather the policy's for background checks. Anyone who works with kids should have background checks done otherwise a place like Disney or any other park that caters to kids is a haven for less than savory characters who can bump up against and rub up against till their hearts content all disgused as assistance or entertainment.

Background checks are worthless unless the person was ever convicted. Disney can only do so much.

We had an incident with TIGGER while at the CP Buffet in MK in April of last year. All of the other characters came to our table but TIGGER skipped us and was happily posing for pictures with two twenty-something girls in very short dresses and skirts. The look on our 20 month old DS's face was heart-breaking. I told a CM that TIGGER had skipped us and he did come over later on. I think that I do wear my Disney colored glasses when I see the characters...you never know who is behind that Tigger costume.

From a lot of info I've read and heard, I guess I was biased to think Tigger would have been flirting with the gals boy friends.

I really sure that your 20 month year old son will be traumatised for the rest of his life because Tigger went for the girls first instead of him.

If any of you read my trip report from December, you will see that this is almost the exact thing that happened to me, except with the Chip character. I reported it immediately after the incident, to Disney security and the authorities. What people don't understand is that when Disney interviews you after an incedent occurs, the information you give them falls under attorney client priviledge. The orange County Sheriff's Dept. has had an extremely hard time collecting information on the character's true identity because Disney will not release it to them. I also had a photograph showing myself being groped by the character, which Disney has a copy of, and which they have tried to hide from law enforcement.
We are die hard Disney fans. We visit the parks 3 times a year, and I am a travel agent who specializes in Disney. I also have the benifit that my husband is very high up in law enforcement, which in this case has done absolutely no good.
We have gone as high up as we can in this case. All we wanted was an apology that this incident had occured, and the assurance that the matter would be fully investigated and that the person responsible would be fully disciplined. Instead we got major attitude from Disney, who insisted that they would take no action unless we could "do something that would embarrass them in court", even after we insisted on several occasions that we were not looking for a lawsuit,just an apology.
It is very mysterious now that the sheriff's department has found out the identity of my molester that the person no longer works for Disney and is convieniently out of state and cannot be prosecuted. My heart definately goes out to this family.

Hey let's not forget that a person and even Tigger is innocent until proven guilty. Be careful to assume that all is true because the media says so. Yes a person may have been arrested but they have yet to be tried.
