I just heard on the news that a 36-year old CM in a Tigger suit (not sure if it was DL or MK) fondled a woman's breasts at the park while someone else was getting a picture of them together. I wasn't really listening so didn't get all the details but apparently Tigger is in lockdown in the county jail now. I am not making this up, I am posting this on April 2nd and it is legit according to NBC news.

Who knew Tigger was that kind of guy???
:wave2:

I just saw that on the news here in Pennsylvania.

He fondled a Mom & her 13 year old daughter. Gross!

I am here in orlando, and heard the news also. I have to say, first they interviewed the guys fiance and she said his costume has hands with like 5 inches of padding at the ends of the fingers and it would be nearly impossible to "fondle" someone. Why did this take 2 months to be filed? According to the victim on the news broadcast it was back in February at Toontown. That he fondled her breast while taking the photo with the 13 yr old? Im sorry if I sound skeptical, but these kind of charges always seem to be brought on for publicity. How does a Tigger fondle a woman in front of others and noone says anything????? I know I sound like I dont believe it happened? But maybe his hand brushed her chest.I felt bad for the guys fiance, she was very supportive of him on the news and said they still plan to marry. He is out on bail and has been placed on leave without pay by Disney. Im hoping its one big misunderstanding.I find it hard to believe, especially because it happened in front of so many people and nothing was said for 2 months????

Ohhh, thanks for the update tiggergirl333. You're right that does sound a tad fishy. If a character groped my 13 year old, i would not wait two months to follow up--two minutes would be more like it. Very suspect. :wave2:

I agree alliecats, I would not have to think about it for two months...

Anyone remember the kidnapping/rape claim from a few years ago at the CB? Turned out to be a total scam. They tried to hit Disney for some BIG bucks.

Too bad the national news jumped on this story with so few details as were broadcast in Orlando.

Lets see what happens before we believe the media reports.

Well that is the news for you. Unsensationalized sound bytes do not get people's attention but it just goes to show that you may not be getting all the details. You are right, flyinglizard, no point to rush to judgment. Tigger is innocent until proven guilty.
What is "cb"? I didn't hear about that one? :wave2:

That's SOO weird!! I have a friend who is currently a character at WDW, and she said how Disney stresses to them SOOO much that they have to be careful, because when people get home and get pics developed, pictures can look "misleading". That's probably what happened here. I agree with "Tiggergirl333"...he couldn't have felt much through those hands...I feel very sorry for him. I am sure Disney suspended him w/o pay because he wasn't "careful", and now it is going to cost them a lot of money!!

The world is a very scary place...people will try to get money any way they can...Disney is a VERY easy target!!! It would be interesting to know how much cheaper our tickets would be if it weren't for people looking to make a buck!!!!

Alliecats... CB is the Caribbean Beach Hotel.

A woman claimed she was abducted, bound and held at the CB and repeatedly raped. She sued on the pretense that Disney Security was lax, and that she suffered mental and physical duresss.

It turned out that the group involved were pro scam artists and had been involved in other elaborate scams. Why weren't they in jail?

If anybody out there can fill in some of the details, jump right in...

As much as you guys don't want to believe it, you should. Go over to the rumors and news boards and there is a thread with a link to the orlando sentinel report on this. The suspect basically admits it AND apologizes. Sometimes people get so caught up in the "Disney MAgic" that they forget that it is a real place with real people working there. Unfortunately, i am sure there are bad people working at Disney as there are bad people working at alot of places.

Orlando Sentinel

It was reported 8 days later, not 2 months.

Incident Report

He practically confesses and appologizes and offers the police man other photos taken...

Charging Affidavit

All I can say is I was sick to my stomach when I read it and hope it isn't true but it's not looking too good for him.:(

I'm sick of our sue-happy society too but this story sickens me and will make me more aware in the future for my 2 DDs. How sad.:(

I read the Orlando Sentinel article and the links to the police report on the "Tigger Incident" and I have to say that nothing indicates to me that the suspect intentionally did anything. With the padding on those costumes, I agree that it would be VERY difficult to feel much of anything.

As far as the Orlando article stating that he is very sorry, I have to say I would be, too. Let's say that I accidently backed up and knocked someone down in a line at Disney. Or course, I would apologize. Does that make me guilty of assault and battery? No, it doesn't.

Then there was the 'trouble remembering' statement. It would have been easy to turn around a statement such as "I don't always remember the guests that I interact with." Or "I have trouble remembering every Disney guest that I come in contact with."

I'm not saying that the guy is innocent, but he deserves the benefit of the doubt ( as I hope I would get). If he is guilty, then he deserves the worst. But let's hear all the evidence before we decide.

BTW, does Disney do any background checks on their employees that work with children?

IMHO, I think there's something about those photos that this man had friends take of him with other guests. He had MANY of these photos and offered them up to the policeman and that is when he was put under arrest. There must be something to those photos.

Also, I noticed that they may have waited a few days due to shock or whatever but when they did call the police, they were still on vacation at the Pop Century Resort. I think that's worth mentioning too since there's been some false info that they waited 2 months.

Very very sad whether guilty or innocent.:(

I worked with this guy once. He's an English gentleman. I hope this gets worked out.

It doesn't look good for him, but what I think is weird is that the mother wasn't present for the incident report. If that was my daughter, and the same thing had happened to me, I would have been right there with her when she was making the initial allegation.

I really hate it when these situations play out this way. It makes hard to figure out who the real "bad" guy is in the situation---and it makes it more difficult on future victims of real assaults.

The sad truth is you'll never know what really happened. The media they take things completely out of context to "make you believe the worst". So, everything you read (no matter how much a top rated paper/network) has to be taken as a grain of salt. Obviously facts in a police report are bit more trustworthy-- then again it's the side of 1 person. Because Disney covers everything up (you NEVER hear the follow up story)-- we'll most likely never know if it was Tiggers fault, or a family looking to score some money!

From reading that charging affidavit he doesn't admit to doing anything. He states he may have "inadvertently" touched it. Which I could see happening. Im not saying he is innocent, but he doesn't admit to anything. Him offering to write an appology for what happened does not mean he is guilty either.

Ok Here's my input.
First of all the mother was present while the police came to talk to her daughter. If you look at the incident report closely, the mother is the witness. She would not be able to be the witness if she wasn't speaking to the policeman at that time.

Second of all. The policeman in his statemnet on the affid. states he told the CM he was not under arrest until the CM showed him the photos. So that lead me to believe whatever that policeman saw in the phots led him to believe that something inappropriate was done.

Sorry, just reading the facts.
