I just hope the whole incident was a misunderstanding. Either way, now I'm sure I will be paying close attention whenever my son is near a character. That's not something that a parent should have to worry about at Disney World.

Hope this is not true and I'm not saying it couldn't happen (there are nuts everywhere) but with the amount of greed lawsuits filed today I'm always skeptical.

Many, many years ago, and many many pounds ago I was on my honeymoon and my now ex-husband wanted a picture of me with the evil guy from Robin Hood.
I stood next to him and his arm went right up to my chest. We have the picture with me holding his hand and giving him the nastiest look. He and I both knew what he was trying to do.
But I never thought to press charges. I wonder how long I have, this happened in 1974. lol
I own stock in Disney, I guess it would be like suing myself. Peggie

What bothers me is HIS response, that he had "trouble remembering things"....

No denial, no excuse, just "trouble remembering things???"

I also don't find this funny at all.

Should someone who has this kind of "trouble" be allowed to mix and mingle with children?

I'm sure there will be a big investigation about this. His response sounds fishy.

I don't know if anything happened, I hope not.

But the guy said he is having trouble remembering things. I wonder how many people he saw between the time he first saw them and he was arrested? I don't know if I would remember who everyone was. How good is their sense of feeling with the gloves on? How well can they see? If he was doing this on purpose he would probably be doing it a lot. Wouldn't the CM with him notice that he kept trying to touch in the same area? There are just too many unknowns.

Well, whatever happened the girl thinks this happened to her and will be hurt by it, even if it was an accident.

Maybe I'm being too naive, but perhaps he was trying to pat their shoulders, those mits are very big. Who knows.

depends on the character.. and the ones ive heard of in these complaints dont have the big mits, a lot of fuz on the mits but the mits themselves are thin. they know what there doing.... and know being disney wont have any complaints...

the chipmunks i talked with were girls, wouldnt have minded a free feel, but the guy in the tigger costume in 92 had enough stregnth in his grip it hurt my shoulder an i had some decent meat on the back at the time...

I did a year as our vilian mascot at school, tho i know that has no bearing on the costume quality, you still have to have a sense of feeling in your hands...and in most of those costumes you do....

careful how they hug for pics, a good toon goes around the shoulders...

not many mickey pics you see around the waist.. at least i havent seen em.

I can understand the child being too embarrased to say anything, but why did the mother stand there and allow Tigger to grope her? She didn't say anything about it until she heard her daughter's complaint. Surely she would think if he's doing this to her he might be doing something similar to her daughter. Well, as for me, I've read enough about perverted characters. From now on, my kids can have pictures, but I'll simply state " no touching, please". You can't be too careful, even at Disney.
