Tiger Woods hospitalized due to accident

Yeah, but what was he doing out at 2:25am?

If he just hit the fire hydrant because of exhaustion, then he would have no problem talking to police. The fact that he isn't talking to them, makes me think he's hiding a secret.

Better spill it!!
On his webpage he said it was all his fault. To me that sounds weird. If it was a one car wreck that is obvious sp?

Why did you come to this thread? If you weren't curious as to what was going on?

I wanted to see if he was ok, nothing more. As far as why he got in the accident, if he is or isn't cheating on his wife, what he was doing going out at 2am, if he was assaulted prior to the accident...I could not care less. Why should I? I don't know the guy and have no interest in what he does. Even the athletes I do follow I don't try to find out about their personal lives. I value their privacy as much as I value my own. I care if they are or aren't dead from a car accident and if they will be able to continue their profession, but don't need to know the details.

I saw a headline a while ago proclaiming that Tiger "owes us answers". Excuse me? No he doesn't. He did not injure anyone but himself, no one else was involved. He need only need to answer to the local authorities and his insurance company (should he choose to make a claim). Even then, he only needs to say he did it, it was his fault----the circumstances leading up to the accident are irrelevant (aside from DUI but not the issue here).

I do not understand why anyone feels he has to explain anything. It is not our concern.

Why wouldn't he talk to them:confused::confused: IT seems like he's trying to cover something up?

He isn't obligated to talk to them and after they announced that charges may be pending, it was better not to talk to them. Perhaps he is protecting his wife, which is probably a very good idea since she is the mother of their children.

I just think he's very private and feels it's none of our business. I'm sure I've done things that would SEEM like a big deal if I were a celebrity that were actually quite dull from the inside.

Probably because everything he does say will be exploited in the press and he has to be very careful of that.

How would you like it if you had a spat with your wife and stupidly ran into a fire hydrant and you had the media camped out at your house waiting for you...

You don't ever have to talk to police, ever. And if they arrest you, you still don't have to talk to police, as you will then ask for your attorney.

Any lawyer you talk to - ever - will tell you never, ever talk to police.

Personally, I don't get the fascination with celebrities lives. We build them up then watch them fall. The facts may come out and they may not. It's no ones business.

Kind of reminds me of the Don Henley song "Dirty Laundry". I thought of that during the Michael Jackson media frenzy.

I don't know how credible this is, but I read where the cops are pursuing a warrant in the Wood's case.

http://www.tmz.com/

"Sources tell TMZ the Florida Highway Patrol is now focusing on obtaining a search warrant -- allowing them to seize medical records from the hospital that treated Tiger Woods -- in an attempt to determine if the wounds Woods sustained are consistent with a car accident or domestic violence.

We're told authorities believe they can show probable cause a crime was committed, a necessary step in obtaining a warrant.

One big piece of evidence showing probable cause ... sources tell us Tiger's wife, Elin Nordegren told FHP troopers she went looking for Tiger in a golf cart, came upon the accident and then used a golf club to break the window to gain entry. That's a very different story from what she first told Windemere cops shortly after the accident -- she never mentioned a golf cart. Nordegren told Windemere police she had walked out of her house, saw the crash, went back inside to get a golf club and returned to the vehicle.

TMZ has reviewed 21 photos from the scene -- no sign of any golf cart. But we just found another photo (below) from the scene, where you can see a golf cart in the foreground."

Strange. That's a whole lot of resources being used over a small event.

So what would be the charges? Is it worth all of that investigation? It was a minor incident. Even if they could prove it was a domestic issue, Tiger would have to press charges for it to have legs, and that doesn't look likely. Really strange turn of events.

ETA- It looks like maybe Tiger could turn the tables on the cops and sue them for invasion of privacy if he has stated he was to blame.

They said that what set the police of is that on the 911 on call of the accident that there was no mention of his wife.

I really don't think they can get them on invasion of privacy, Look at how many women say oh my hubby didn't hit me, They do a little digging around and find out there was abuse.

OMG all you arm chair lawyers. Have you bothered to read our constitution and its amendments?

Yes. The Fifth Amendment protects witnesses from incriminating themselves; not the Fourth as you previously stated.

Aside from that, his statement is cryptic. Why would he apologize and state that something like this will not happen again if it was only car accident? It is logical to assume that this may have been a domestic vilence situation. Domestic violence is not a private matter and the police should be investigating whether any occurred. If this was perceived as a man attacking a woman rather than the opposite I suspect that many would not be congratulating the wife for protecting the husband.

I think Tiger's wife was beating the bejesus out of him with the golf club. He got in his car to escape and, perhaps due to his injuries, nerves, etc, starting hitting trees and fire hydrants. His wife pursued him down the driveway with the golf club still in her hand.

The newstory seems to indicate that Tiger was 'trapped' in the car and that hsi wife used the golf club to beat out the back window so she could unlock the car. Hmm.

This isn't about Tiger Woods I don't know about that. Regarding domestic violence in general it hinges on the injured party. I've seen a lot of cases (on Cops and such) where police were called for domestic abuse (bruises, scrapes, blood and all were evident) and had to leave without making an arrest because the injured party would not press charges. The police would be upset because they couldn't do anything unless the injured party pressed charges. I don't know. Has the law changed?

The law can well be different in each state. "Cops" is not a good source for understanding the law.

I find it odd that they wouldn't have a second set of keys for the car to unlock the car door. And where was she when the neighbor called 911?

 Yeah. I know. But that wasn't the only show I've seen so it seemed credible enough. I'm sure laws can be different in each state. Interesting just the same.

she must have found out the truth about the cheating rumor, chased his tail with his own 9-iron, and caused him to run like the devil.

i hope she didn't actually beat him with it, but the vision of her chasing him with it kind of made me giggle.
