Tiger Fans Do Disney – Pre Trip

Dates: June 2-14

Cast of Characters:

Lisa, Me (Tiger Fan) – 32, planner of all Disney trips, 5th time to WDW (3rd in the last year)

Lynn (Tiger Fan Too) – 37, loves all things Disney, 5th time to WDW (3rd in the last year)

Emily (Little Tiger Fan) – 4, major fan of all characters, loves thrill rides, 3rd trip to WDW all within the past year.

Lisa’s Mom, Wanda, 4th trip to WDW (last trip was 1996)

Lisa’s Dad, Dale, 4th trip to WDW (last trip was 1996)

We had planned this trip as soon as we returned last June. As the trip got closer we kept adding days, finally settling on almost two full weeks. We also were finally able to talk my parents into flying down for 5 days in the middle ($85 roundtrip through Priceline). The past year has been very hectic for our family. We literally have had a full year of chemotherapy combined with Walt Disney World. It seemed every time I would complete a certain treatment we would head off to the World. It was one of the ways I kept my sanity. Our first trip had been planned before my diagnosis, then we simply got hooked. We live about 9 hours away, so it’s possible to drive, saving us money, not to mention the great deals I find on the DIS ($49/All Star stays). We had annual passes to that makes it very affordable as well.

Emily and I will be attending the DIS convention, but our next family vacation to the World will be February, 2003 – wow that sounds far away.

OK, for the reports. I have decided not to do a narrative, as our days were very broken up. I could only go for about 3 hours at a time, one reason we wanted this trip to be for two weeks. We knew we would have to take things very slow and have lots of rest time built in. It all worked great. I will give reviews by categories (i.e. restaurants, resorts (we stayed at All Star Sports and The Yacht Club), Parks, and then a recap of highs/lows, etc. Hope you enjoy.

It is funny, beacuse just like you my July trip was only for a few days and is now a week long. I guess it's that Disney fever!
