Tiger Fans Do Disney Final Thoughts
Dates: June 2-14
Cast: Lisa, Lynn, Emily and Lisas Parents
This trip was wonderful and we are so glad we had this much time allowing us to take things really slow. After over a year of treatments I really have to pace myself as Im getting back in the swing of things and this worked well.
Im going to list some of the highlights from this trip, trying not to duplicate too much from my reports.
It was wonderful to have my parents down for part of the trip. Experiencing WDW with them was wonderful. They had taken me twice as a child, but having them with us and enjoying Emily was very special.
We loved The Yacht Club. We are so glad we treated ourselves to this resort. We spent much more time here at the pool and less at the parks the second week than we intended, but loved how wonderful this entire place is.
Seeing Mickey and Minnie get married at the Wedding Gazebo was simply magical. I cant wait to see all the pictures we took of this event.
Sunday Brunch at Spoodles is so incredible. This is now a must do for us.
We had wonderful character interaction almost every time we turned around. Emily finds this to be as much fun as any attraction or ride and we enjoy indulging her in this. The memories are wonderful.
The Illuminations Cruise with my parents was fabulous. My mom loves fireworks and she was speechless during this entire show. She lists this as her favorite night at WDW.
Being at The Yacht Club with the Vice President was a neat thing, too bad we didnt get to meet.
We only had a couple of letdowns the entire two weeks.
The first week we had a lot of rain and had to plan accordingly. I know how bad Florida has needed rain, so I always reminded myself to that. One night on the news we heard that Orlando had received more rain the first 7 days of June than it had the entire first 5 months of the year, it helped the fires, but did slow us a bit. As for the fires, we only had one time that we smelled any smoke and that was last Sunday at Downtown Disney. It was gone by morning.
Mickeys Backyard BBQ was a huge letdown for us. You can read specifics on my restaurant review or ask questions.
Animal Kingdom was much worse in the heat than I remembered. I love this park, but I couldnt take it this year.
Early entry and e-ticket were more crowded than any times in the past for us, I simply dont believe that crowds are down this summer.
Overall this trip was just as wonderful as we could have imagined. Ill be planning our next trip soon! Thanks for reading.
