Tiger Fans Do Disney Disney MGM Studios
Dates: June 2-14
Cast: Lisa, Lynn, Emily and Lisas Parents
This is another park that we all really enjoy. We did this park several days in segments, but the longest two days devoted to it seemed to be perfect. The first day was just Lynn, Emily and I and it was very hot. Before we realized it we had been at MGM for 6 hours. Now this is a lot for us, but because so many of the attractions are inside and air conditioned we were fine. We also had a nice lunch break at Sci-Fi and this helped break up the day. The other long day for this park was my parents first day and it rained for a couple of hours. This park is great for rainy days. You get wet between attractions, but again since so many are indoors, you can still cover a lot of ground.
We did the Fantasmic Dinner Package at Mama Melroses and my folks both loved Fantasmic. We had great seats and enjoyed desserts while waiting for the show to start.
We rode most everything except RnRC and we really wanted to do this, but just never made the time. We had loved this ride in January, but it just never made it into our day. The other big surprise was Lynn rode ToT. Now, Emily rode this in January and Emily loved it, I tolerate it. For months Emily had been prepping Lynn to ride this with promises to hold her hand, help her, etc. Its adorable when your 4 year old assures you that SHE will keep YOU safe! Lynn rode it once and I seriously doubt shell ever ride it again, mind you, shes very proud of this accomplishment, be it only once.
I finally got to see the Hunchback of Notre Dame and really enjoyed it. We had excellent seats and loved the way the show spills out into the audience. Emily became obsessed with The Great Movie Ride for some reason this trip and we rode several times. The best time was when we sat directly in front of the driver, which meant we were right up front for the hi-jack scene. This was a lot of fun and we felt we got lots of extra interaction, I recommend these seats!
One of the best things we found at MGM this time was the tremendous amount of characters. On several occasions we entered the park to numerous characters (Im talking 8 or more in one group). The other great opportunity came at the end of New York street just to the right of the Hunchback theater about 12 characters appeared one evening. These were not your regulars either. We met characters we had never seen before and loved it. Our favorites were Capt. Shang (one of Emilys very favorites) and he really played it up for her taking lots of time and writing the sweetest note in her book, Phil (from Hercules), the Wicked Witch, the White Rabbit and Roger Rabbit (which Emily doesnt know and kept calling them each the Easter Bunny), Meeko, plus there were others that I cant recall.
We love this park as well and the many characters this trip were a great surprise!
