We are thinking to do the Festival of the Lion King Signature Dining Package – Tier I
We would get a nice dinner and my guess do the Lion King Show and Safari before dinner
Or should we lunch and let WDW figure out when we do the Lion King Show and Safari ?

Either way ....
What would you order at Tiffins ?
DW is a picky eater
DH is low salt

what about the Tamarind-braised Short Rib ?
can I get the Surf and Turf without the Surf and pay less money ?
what is Butter Chicken ?

Maybe DH can get...
Tacosplant-based Tinga and plant-based cheese, avocado, corn tortilla$12
and
Roasted Brussels Sproutsbacon-sherry vinaigrette, crispy capers (not eligible for Disney Dining Plan)$13.00

Three [3] things:

1.) Excellent value with the package.

2.) Menus change. So 'pre-ordering' in your brain now is 'subject to change'.

3.) Disney is very good at working with folks with dietary concern/needs. Make note on your reservation(s) and a Chef will come and speak with you at every restaurant.

FWIW, I always seems to enjoy the octopus & whole fish, my daughter enjoys the butter chicken, and the bread service is 'better' at Sanaa.

The short rib is good. Last time I was there they let you substitute Wagyu beef (I think) for the short rib in the meal. It was an upcharge normally, but not when part of a dining package (we had the ROL package).

They'd probably let you order surf and turf without the scallops, but I doubt they'd reduce the cost. And if it's part of the LK package it's a fixed cost anyway, no matter what you order, so they definitely wouldn't reduce the price.

With the package, you get an appetizer, entree, and dessert, so nothing in the Enhancements section would be included (so the roasted brussels sprouts would be extra).

Tiffins is our favorite restaurant on property. Their whole fish has been amazing the couple times I've gotten it. The regular fish of the day has also. We also really enjoyed their lamb dish the last time.

And definitely order the Gobi Manchurian side! It's fried cauliflower and might be my favorite thing on any Disney menu.

For your wife, I would recommend the shrimp n grits and surf n turf--both are pretty accessible for picky eaters. The steak in the surf n turf is really delicious and I'm sure they'd let her order without the scallops, but the price would not change since it is a prixe-fixe package (just like you would still pay the same package price if you order one of the $30 vegetarian entrees instead of the $65 surf and turf).

For your husband, the package is an appetizer, entree, and dessert, so he could do the taco appetizer, plus one of the entrees, but not the brussel sprouts which are an "enhancement" not included in the package. They can likely do a low salt version of most of the entrees (except maybe the butter chicken, since curry sauce is typically cooked for a long time and can't be easily remade)--but with most of the meat or fish based entrees those are cooked to order so they could leave off the salt.

I would vote dinner over lunch because that is a lot of food and I wouldn't want to walk around a hot park all day after eating a three-course meal.

I had the shrimp and grits and oh my goodness it was amazing and I think the best I've had. It was so so good. :)

Charred Octopus was excellent as an appetizer.
The short ribs, grouper and lamb were excellent last fall.
