I feel communication is needed when we are relying on others for our airport needs, whether it is a service or family. I always text any changes to even family. Even if they are getting me at the curb they need to know if there was a change so they can watch the AP for our flight coming in. Last Fall the flight coming back was mechanically down and we were sent to an airport an hour away. I text the family and let them know what airport, time and flight no.
Also, there are parks fees even for Town cars, Uber, Lyft to get in unless someone is an AP holder or has a pass they use. I guess when we travel we don't think about logistics when on vacation.
But, a confirmation, get it in writing in email and keep in touch to confirm. AND have a back up scenario in place. If a alternate plan is put in place and you don't want a charge, call and email to have a record, keep all receipts for the alt travel needs. I'd rather be a pain in the butt updating a dozen times before and during a travel day.
Guess that is why I prefer having a rental. When my son drove us down, I rented a car to have and not rely on him to get me where I wanted to be. Left parks when I wanted, stopped at stores, made drug store runs, etc.
