Just wait for them to start having a separate charge for fastpasses or "front of the line" Passes just like they do at Universal.
For our date in July, Universal Hollywood with the front of the line pass is $239 for one day. DLR parkhopper peak price is $119 for one park and $169 for the hopper. So which company is the money grabber?
especially considering how much more there is to do at disney than at universal. to be fair, though, i think universal's non-fotl ticket is cheaper than disney's? i personally wouldn't ever bother with fotl here. in orlando, maybe. but not hollywood. BUT THAT'S JUST ME![]()

Universal one day peak is 95. So it is less, but less rides.
In Orlando, it's well worth it to stay onsite for the free unlimited fotl and early entry. The cost between that and an offsite hotel was less than the cost of fotl one use passes for my family! Hollywood does not have that option.
What % of guests are single day ticket holders? It must be enough to go through the expense of changing their whole structure though. Also is someone going to really pick a different single day for $20? You'd think most single day tickets are determined by something other than price; day off work, in the area etc. I'm guessing they surveyed single tickets purchasers though, to know if this would affect their decision, but just a guess. Perhaps this is just a "because they can" change though, with nothing more to it than that.
I'm surprised to see "value" days in August. That's sort of a nice surprise and so I thought I'd comment on it.
I choked when I saw what Universal charged for a one-day park hopper in Orlando last year! Like I actually made an audible sound and my family was like "what was that all about?..."I don't think they will. They've totally revamped fp (wdw anyways) years after other parks started their front of the line for purchase pass. Yet at that point, they did not go to a pay system.

I'll just comment on the hand-stamp thingy ... I think most people know you do NOT need your hand stamped if you have a multi-day ticket, but if you have kids - what kid doesn't LOVE getting their hand stamped?? Makes them feel important too ... our kids like to get the stamp - each and every time we cross parks, then as the stamps overlap each other - go on one of the dark rides to make the stamp "glow" so they can see the images. Just part of the fun of being a kid. My kids make sure me & hubby get our hand stamps too - just because we can.
But true, your picture is taken, no stamp needed for multi-day, park-hopper tix.
they just have so few rides anyway that i personally don't find it worth $150+ to go to the front of the line on each one once. but again, that's me haha
the only reason i'd never stay onsite at universal in orlando is that we typically only go for one of the days when we're on a wdw vacation if we go at all.
That is one key thing I am grateful for the decision-makers in Disney management- it should not be based upon ability to pay for this privilege.I don't think they will. They've totally revamped fp (wdw anyways) years after other parks started their front of the line for purchase pass. Yet at that point, they did not go to a pay system.
I haven't been to UH and don't intend to with this system in place. UH can grab someone else's money. For our date in July, Universal Hollywood with the front of the line pass is $239 for one day.
