This does not bother me. It is a choice one can make, so I prefer that over the resort fees we have been discussing.
How does it work? Do you pay at the booth and then they give you something to admit you into the preferred area? Is there a cm checking a the preferred area?
They used to have the AAA Diamond parking and people were wiling to buy those passes off ebay. So Disney may as well take that money.
If you end up all the way that the far end of a row at Epcot you are going to wonder why you paid an extra $15 for the privilege of walking just as far as someone you got a spot at the near end of a row in a lot further from the park entrance. Most of those parking rows are very long.
Also, at MK you really need to ride the tram no matter where you park. Not sure why anyone would pay for a shorter tram ride.
I have too, but I am in great shape. It is a very long walk to anyone with mobility issues - more than half mile.I'll agree on the Epcot part.
However, that's not true about MK. If you're among the first to arrive and are parked in the closest lot (which I assume is now the preferred parking), you won't need to take the tram. It's not a long walk. I've done it myself more than once.
Ugh--those are our choices? "Would you like to get over the head with this brick, or this big rock?" How about neither one?
If i remember correctly though doesn't Amaze just mean walking to the park entrance anyway? Seems those that don't pay will end up better off just taking the nice tram and having less of a walk.
Do CM's park in Journey?View attachment 156469
Amaze is front and center. I think the whole idea is that there is less of a need for trams in the preferred lots which is especially helpful at the end of the day when everyone is filing out. This way you are guaranteed a short walk rather than choosing between a longer walk or a long wait
No, working cast have a separate lot from the main one. Sometimes cast from other parks (DHS mainly) will be relocated to a main epcot lot during busy times, but this isn't super commonDo CM's park in Journey?
Anyone have any sense of how many parking spaces are available for the premium price? Trying to get a sense of what sort of profit Disney would be looking at. If 5000 total spaces then Disney would make around $2.74 million a year just on the premium parking. Not bad and since it is voluntary I guess I don't see a problem, although when you start adding a charge for everything that can be deemed "premium" you start pricing out some people and it gets sort of elitist (arguably).
