Tie dye Tinkerbell?

My DD is crazy for Tink. We're having a pixie party in April for her birthday and I would like to make shirts for her pals as hostess gifts. I've done the Mickey head ones with success, any suggestions or directions for a Tinkerbell tie dye?

You can tie dye any shape using the Mickey Tie Dye method. BUT realize that the more detailed, the more difficult it will be.

You might consider creating an iron-on of Tink and tie-dying the shirts to match the colors in it and putting the Tink iron-on after that.

OP, you can make the tie dye with the tinkerbell using resist, its a wax product that keeps the dye from getting into the fabric. Its messy and time consuming but it can be cool.

You've got me tempted to try it for our next trip...
I did try one for my DD (non-Mickey head) for Homecoming this year..and she got many praises...but didn't have time for soda ash or anything because it needed done quickly.... but she liked it!

PixieDust - I thought of the resist method. Actually tried it when making the mickey heads - YUCK! I ended up going with your bleach pen method with fabulous results. I figure I'll start with finding a Tink stencil first and go from there. I'll keep you posted on my results. Maybe I'll even try to figure out photobucket so you can see my progress

Oh I know it gets messy! You can leave a white area for the image and then use iron on.

DD13 and I re-purposed a pair of jeans using a bleach pen to add Tink. We are still working on the finishing touches, but Tink looks great and it was VERY easy.

FWIW- I did try doing a dye resist for a Mickey head and it did not work. Maybe I didn't put on a thick enough coat? I had splotches were it worked, but for the most part it was a disaster (that we fixed with a bleach pen!).

I met someone on Etsy a while back who mentioned she was on Disboards. If I remember correctly she makes Tinkerbell tye dye shirts, as well as Mickey ones. If all else fails I guess you could contact her. Please PM me if you would like her information.

I don't know a thing about tye dying shirts, but would a vinyl sticker help protect the part of the shirt you don't want to dye or would it just seep through?
