Arts and Crafts **Tie Dye Mickey ears shirts directions**NEW NEW PICS LAST PAGE**

Hi Maria!

They came out pretty nice, we learn as we go, now you know about having more dye handy, you can use the bleach pen to fix your ears and you'll be fine.

Thanks for sharing.

Missesdisney,

Your shirts look great!!!!!

I am stitching up my 2nd attempt of shirts tonight hoping to dye them this week...then hopefully post on the weekend.

My first attempt was a total flop...way too much white..my family thinks they are cool but I have seen Pixiedust32's shirts and know mine were YUCK YUCK YUCKY.

Thank you. I am quite pleased with how they came out - the mickey heads are what I am really happy with and I like the sunburst look the stitching made so I'm going to leave them alone (even the lopsided ear on my son's shirt :)). I would have liked less white though but I did buy myself two white t's in case I messed up so I think I'm going to do another one for myself at least - not sure what colors. Toying with red-white-blue just for fun. Of course, I may have to mix every darn color in that kit to figure out which of the 5 that look alike are red!

Post your pics when yours are done!

I will have to see if I can get the pics uploaded.

The same person who mentioned a laundry incident to my DD3, said to my MIL (also wearing a mickey head tie dye) "You know, if you separate your colors before washing that might not happen" ;) His idea of a comical compliment I guess.

Hi girls! How ya'll doing with your projects? here o couple pics.... (you can view more in my album) :goodvibes :wizard:

Let me tell you, it was a new one for me trying to stop the black for running wild all over the white, I have to wash them twice with the Synthrapol, then a few minutes in the dyer on low, after that i hung them to dry. I was very happy with the way they turned out, the white is well pretty white.

These were my first attempt. By no means as goods as Pixie's, but better than I anticipated! Can't wait to wear them in 9 days!:cool1:

Just quoting myself to add an update........

My entire family wore our tie-dye Mickey-head shirts last week on our arrival day at MK and it was definitely a highlight of our 8-day trip! EVERYONE comments on these shirts! I bet we had over 50 compliments. SO MANY people wanted to know where I bought them.

So be forewarned - you're in for ALOT of attention and stares when you wear your tie-dye Mickey-head Ts!::yes::

Awesome! :yay::woohoo: Glad you had a blast at the World. I bet the kids were happy.

You do get a lot of attention indeed, :yay::woohoo:

Thanks for sharing! :thumbsup2

as a DH.. i'm the crafty one... I think I'm going to try this... My mom sews and is very crafty, so I hope some of her talent comes up trying this...

I stopped reading at page 24 of 42 so this may have been addressed..

For those that have done it, have you then done a reverse tie dye?

I'd like to do a mickey but on the bottom, maybe with the bleach wash and stencils, do soemthing lik WDW2009 or something... I think that would look nice..

And has anyone managed to do a bow to make it like Minnie???? I'm thinking maybe fabric paint would have to be used... thoughts?

Hi, I had never done a reverse tie dye. Or the stencil. I had done the minnie bow but with ribbon, not paint. :)

now that is an option... a ribbon there.... or maybe I'll just get my daughter to "bedazzle" or something some gems to look like a bow for minnie. we'll see.. i'm putting the cart before the horse now..

Yes, that would be lovely too. I'll show you a pic of one of them in a minute.
