By the way, here is a picture of my bleach pen shirts -- I was really unhappy with the way my mickey head tie dyes turned out, so I'm glad I had these:

Well I came to say welcome to the addiction to the person subbing, but then I realized who it was-- YOU ALREADY HAVE THE FEVER!! hahahaha!

Marcy, I love your swirls they are adorable! I will have some goodies to show you all in just a bit!

OK kids, here we go!

I love this one, Cassi! I think I have a thing for the dark Mickey heads. I'll need to post my various fails over the weekend -- I'm a great tie dyer, but not a great Mickey head-er!

(My daughter is Cassie, so I have to keep going back and editing out the final e when I respond to your posts! :) )

Thanks Marcy!! How cute about your daughter! Don't worry about editing, I am so used to people spelling it wrong :) lol. Is hers Cassandra, or just plain Cassie? I am just plain ol Cassi :)

I have really been doing a lot of that color combo, people love it! I think it is great, bc it is guy appropriate- oh! I have one in the dryer right now that is all black- it is pretty cool- I will put pics up later tonight- I have one of those crazy busy days today! haha!

I love those Old Navy V necks to dye on! Sooo comfy and take color great!

You did good for your second shot!! I am telling you, the MM thing is tricky, it takes awhile to get it down! What type of dye are you using??

Cassi
I love you shirts!! what is your technique for the Mickey heads...not that I need to make more, I did a few more that are drying!!

Thanks! I really have no special technique, I do the same thing everyone else does! I have just done sooo many (over 200 now at last count!) that I have a lot of practice! I have a whole flickr page full of them if any of you guys ever want to check them out for color ideas, etc!

I would love to see your flickr page, can you post or send me the link? :)

I have bought about 15 Dharma dyes and my dh is away next week plus the kids are at camp. :cool1: I can't wait to have a week of peace to be able to dye my heart out!

Oh! I meant to say I actually buckled down and did two spiral shirts today- they came out great- I guess I have improved my overall skills, bc they always looked awful before!

My Cassie is actually Cassidy, named after the Bob Weir/Grateful Dead song. :)

I finally dyed tonight! About 20 shirts, give or take one or two, lol.

I did 2 each for 9 of us (or at least I think I did) as well as a few extra's that were just regular tie dye.

I can't wait to see if I wasted my time or not :rotfl2:.

I didn't make too much of a mess. I took before pictures of my set up- but didn't take any after as I didn't want to get any dye on my camera. I have a few spots on my legs, my hands are clean but from wrists to elbows I have quite a few spots, lol. And I have a laundry basket full of gallon sized ziploc bags from the dollar store, each holding my works of art.

DH is going to flip when he sees how many I did. :rotfl:

Now........... the waiting! I think I'll let them sit about 15 hours or so (kit says 12 to 24 and I let my test fabric sit for about 9 or so and it came out pretty bright). I don't know if I can stand to wait any longer than that!

Meant to add:

Cross your fingers for me that at least one for each person turns out ok!

I did camo colors for the guys, and bright colors for the girls! So we'll match, but not be matchy (BIL doesn't do matchy but loves camo, so I'm hoping to talk him into it) For our mickey head shirts I'm customizing he probably won't get one, just a shirt that says I don't do matching shirts (My SIL saw that one somewhere).

I have tie dye kits that I picked up at Michaels, white 100% cotton fruit of the loom tshirts, and am ready to attempt to make shirts. however, the kits did not come with the soda ash to soak the tshirts.
Is this something that I can buy seperately or should I not worry about doing this?
Also, is there a link some one could post to give me a good mickey head outline to use?

Oh my gosh I can't wait to see them!!! When do you unwrap them??? I bet you were tired, after doing about 20 shirts over the sink, my back hurts and I need a nap! haha!

:rotfl: :rotfl: I am so glad DBF goes along with my tie dye madness! That is hilarious! I love the camo idea- I can't wait to see them!

:banana::banana: OK, so I have pics of the spirals! Guess I am not so bad at it after all!
