Tie Dye Instructions for Spiral Mickey Shirt

Here are pictures of my tester Mickey Head tye dye shirts. I am pleased with them but will probably wrap another rubberband or two around the MH before I dye my next shirts for better definition. The colors look much better in real life then they do in the pictures.

We're back from our trip and I have a photo of us in our new shirts at DCA. I was amazed at how many comments I received from them! We wore the "old" more colorful ones from our WDW trip during our Disneyland day, but received only two comments the whole day. Oh well. DH thinks it is because the mickey head was more pronounced on the RW&B ones.

All I know is that it made it VERY easy for us to find each other, especially when the cell phones decided not to work!

I think they look good. I'll have to make 2 more for DH and DS13 before our trip in January.

love the rw&b shirts also!!! :thumbsup2

Thank you for your comments! I debated for a long time about what to do for the Mickey heads. Do I leave them white? Do I try to do a different color? Should I dye them and do those fun spiral Mickey designs on them (I just love the way those look!) But in the end it was just easier to leave them white since I dyed the heck out of the shirts - what a mess it was. Needless to say, I was very pleased with the result.

DS wore his to the Disney store, and one of the CM's I know there (since I frequent the place so much :rotfl:) wants me to bring the instructions to her the next time I'm in, and I'm happy to oblige her!

I just finished doing six shirts at my kitchen table. I used cookie sheets to catch the spillage....it was still quite a mess but not as bad as it could of been. I have A LOT of dye left over. I put the extra in water bottles...do you think it will keep a while? If these shirts dont turn out very well I have plenty to do a second set if it will keep. I also think that I am going to have a lot of white because I did NOT poke around into the folds....my daughter was "helping" me and the distraction was too much for me....everytime I stopped watching her a mess occurred.....which is fine....it cleaned up fine but I do think the distraction kept me from doing it the best way I could have. I will post photos after I rinse them and dry them.

I can't wait to see the shirts!! I too am waiting for mine to dry!! They had dried from their wash, but then DD saw some fabric sparkles at the store, so her shirts got a dusting. Then they had to sit for 72 hours and then get washed and hung dry again!!! LOL So they are hanging again...

I have heard that they dye doesn't keep for long, but I have no idea for how long it does keep..

Well I finally got to take a couple of pics of our shirts and DD's panties...lol I think they turned out great for our first time, just needed a bit of a touch up with the bleach pen! And the addition of sparkles to DD's shirts and a couple of the Mickey Heads on the adult ones! I am not too sure if you can see the sparkles on the pics though...

They are alot brighter in person, they came up kind of dull in the pics

Here are my finished t-shirts. I have already rinsed them by hand and let them dry......I still need to wash them in machine and am really, really hoping that they dont fade much more.........

I am pleased with them.

I like the look of you shirts. I never thought of doing panties but i do know I hated doing my grandaughter's shorts so I don't know that I will try doing panties. :rotfl:

In case this hasnt been listed before.....

Those kids black colored plates that they serve the kids meals in that are in the shape of Mickeys Head are PERFECT to outline the shirts with!!
