Today’s Navigator

There was nothing to get up for this morning but even so we were up at 8:00 and in Topsiders for breakfast by 9:00. As we finished breakfast a fog had descended so we made our way down to the Promenade Lounge, getting half-scared to death by the fog horn which blasted out just as we passed it.

We sat in the Promenade Lounge for a while and at 10:30 we went down to look at the Russian Bazaar that had opened in Preludes. It seemed that half the ship had the same idea so we went instead to Treasure Ketch where we bought a couple of last minute souvenirs.

From there we went up to deck 9 as the fog had now lifted and we laid out on a couple of loungers until 12:00 when we went down to the cabin to watch the debarkation procedures video to find out what would happen when we left the ship.

After the presentation we went up to Pluto’s Dog House where I had a hot dog and fries and Dad had chicken strips and fries. After lunch we wandered round for a while and found a presentation of the local plaques that had been handed over in the various ports of call.

Next we registered for the art auction, which turned out to be more of an “If you want it you can have it” sale because pieces received either no bids, one bid or there were enough for everybody to have one. We didn’t buy anything and didn’t win anything in the raffle so after the auction we went upstairs to relax for an hour before the ‘Art of the Theme Ship Tour’ at 4:30.

The Art of the Them Ship Tour was quite interesting and revealed a lot of facts that we wouldn’t otherwise have known. For example, if you step out of the elevators and see dolphins on the carpet

It means you are on a stateroom deck whereas if you step off the elevator and see anchors on the carpet

It means you are on an entertainment deck. We also found out that the Magic was built on two halves and you can see where they were welded together.

The tour ended at 5:30 and we went down to the cabin for a while before going down to Preludes for our normal Zombies before the show, which tonight was ‘Disney Dreams An Enchanted Classic’, a big production show consisting of a number of Disney classics strung together by the story of a young girl trying to make her dreams come true. Again it was a great show and got the second standing ovation of the cruise.

After the show we went upstairs to get changed for dinner, which tonight was semi-formal night, and found this in our cabin

After getting changed we went downstairs and managed to get a photo with formal Mickey and Minnie, after waiting for all the parties that had a photo with all the family in it, then a photo with just the parents, then just the kids - it was like being at a photo session for a wedding!!

Dinner tonight was the Captain’s Gala menu and I started off with shrimp while Dad had proscuitto, then we both had Wild Mushroom Soup followed by medallions of venison. Dad finished up with chocolate lava cake and ice cream sundae while I just had the lava cake.

During dinner we got a photo of our table mates

After dinner we went into the Promenade Lounge for our usual brandy and I got this unusual photo of the DCL logo reflected in a porthole.

At 11:15 it was time for the chocolate buffet where I just took photos as I couldn’t eat anything else.

We then went back up to the room where I changed the magnets on the door ready for my birthday tomorrow and as the clocks went back again tonight we were in bed by 11:45 (10:45) ready for a character breakfast at 9:45 tomorrow.

We've never made it to the dessert buffet (choccie or otherwise) as always too full after dinner - really going to have to pace myself in August... ;)

Wow that chocolate buffet looks amazing. I would be tempted to miss dinner to make sure I could sample everything.
