So we decided to go for the 4th of July weekend, I jumped and purchased two day park hopper tickets. Now DH decided we should do 3 days. Would I have to purchase a whole new ticket for the extra day or is there a way to upgrade it to a 3 day and pay the difference. There is 5 of us going Me, DH, DS (12) DD(10) and DD (4) our two days are for July3-4 and we want to add the 5th.

Traditionally you can add days during your trip through the Disneyland app but with needing park reservations I would just pay full price for another day of tickets or try to call disney land support and try to add a day to your reservation that way.

Better to call Disneyland and let them know if they can modify your tickets. The problem with getting the 2 day tickets and then an additional 1 day ticket, will be you now have 10 tickets registered in your Disneyland app, instead of 5.

Problem with that is, if you want to try for the virtual ques for either RotR or WS at 7am or 12pm, all 10 tickets will show up and you'll have to uncheck 5 tickets and that will delay the process. Any delay, even for a few seconds, will cause you to miss out on a virtual que for RotR or WS.

Better to call Disneyland and have them modify your registration. If you go with two sets of tickets (2 days and 1 day), you can unlink your one day tickets from the app but it is a pain to add them back in.

Only the tickets that have reservations on that particular day will be checked so there shouldnt be any issue with having to check or uncheck anything on the day they try for Boarding groups. We had 3 4 day passes and one 2 day pass. The two day pass did not effect anything on the days it was just 3 of us. Only the tickets that had reservations on that day showed up checked for BGs.

Thank you for your help! I am currently on hold with Disneyland support. If we have to purchase the one day ticket, we definitely will, but, hoping to avoid that

Good luck! I'm curious, which number did you call to be able to talk to Disneyland customer service?

Each time I call, they automatically hang up on me because they're "experiencing extremely high call volume due to recent operational updates" and they don't even let you have the option to wait to speak to an agent. I'm calling the number listed on their website for buying/changing tickets ( (714) 781-4636), as I need to upgrade 1 park tickets--> Park Hopper. I tried a week ago and got the exact same message.

I called the Website support number (714) 520-6222 and went through the prompts. At first it was doing that exact same thing to me too, hanging up, but I tried again at around noon and it let me go through and now I'm on hold, 30 minutes so far.

Got it, thanks so much for the tip!

I was on hold for an hour and a half last week with the same question. Right now, the only way to add a day is at the ticket booth in person. Then I guess, cross your fingers that the day you want is available. Of course, a week later, the answer could be different...

Update: I was finally able to get through and speak to someone. They told me that unfortunately they are not offering upgrades at the moment, they would be able to issue a refund for the tickets and I could purchase the 3 day park hoppers, but the refund could take weeks. I decided to just purchase a one day one park ticket for that day because there was also the possibility that I might not be able to reserve the park on the days I originally had.

Writing here as well, for posterity:
I called at 4PM on Friday, finally was able to get through to the queue without being hung up on automatically, and was on hold for exactly 2 hours (the reported estimated wait time according to the phone system was "over 1 hour"). The cast member who assisted me was extremely cheerful and helpful, which is a testament to Disney's hiring standards, although I will say the 2 hour on hold experience was less than stellar. I wonder why they can't implement a call-you-back-when-it's-your-turn system.

Like what DisneyMomOfJG said above, they weren't able to upgrade my existing tickets to Park Hopper, but they said they would refund the existing tickets and I could purchase new tickets on the website myself.

Bottom line, keep trying on calling, and perhaps try during a less peak time. And stay on hold.
