We are arriving Tues., July 28, and will be at the parks on Wed. and Thurs. (July 29-30) this summer. Should we get our tickets in advance or just purchase them on Tues. when we get there? Flying there from Indiana....also if we buy in advance, is there a place to get a discount on the tickets? Just getting a 2 day ticket and doing one park each day. Thanks.

You might be able to save a couple dollars per ticket by ordering through an employee discount site if your company provides access to one. Those discounts are very small, and are mostly eaten-up by service charges. But a few dollars the seems insignificant to some, may be huge to others. If you can't find anything, you could just buy your tickets the night before you enter. That way you can also see Downtown Disney.

A lot of people also buy Disney Gift Cards through Target, using their Target Red Card to save 5%. If you have one, you could try that, and use the cards when paying for your tickets. There has been a lot of discussion about whether or not Target still gives this discount. When I checked online last week, it was still available.

We like getting ours online from the Disney website and then taking the confirmation paper straight to the turnstiles. I know there are other cheaper places to get tickets like through AAA.

We do like Becks explained. It's awfully nice to go straight to the turn styles rather than spend 30 minutes or more in line at a window at the very beginning of a trip. That's some quality time there!

We have bought our tickets at DLR hotels when we check in. I just make a note on our reservation and it's never been a problem.

I believe some of the off-site hotels also sell tickets.

I don't like buying my tickets prior to arrival. The cost for 6 people 4-5 day hopper's is a chunk of change. If for some reason we don't' make the trip, I don't want the money tied up or lost.

I'm with you on buying early. I've been ill on and off for 3 years and don't want to get stuck with tix, if something happens again.
Sometime before our trip I'll call GCH and let them know.

Thanks for the info!!

Can you buy your tix at the Disney hotels or only at the gates?

All three resort hotel front desks can act as full ticket booths if you are staying on site. They can do almost everything for ya right there when you check in...or even after you have checked in...no need for special arrangements ahead of time.
