i will be in california aug 15 - 22
i am trying to decide to buy a city pass or a regular 3 day hopper
my boys are ages 2 & 5
plus my parents who are both 65 are coming with us
so i was wondering does it pay to get the city pass cause i dont think my boys or my folks would like universal or seaworld
i was basically looking to go to disneyland maybe lego land knotts berry farm & maybe the zoo

so what do you think is the best ticket buy

It's a good deal if you go to SeaWorld too but not if only Disneyland Resort.

I would not suggest going to Universal with that age group. Why are you not interested in SeaWorld?

Lego Land would be good to visit with young children.

I would second doing legoland and seaworld with the young children. Univeral can be a little hard on the younger ones

How tall are your boys because Legoland was a HUGE dissapointment to our daughter who at 2 1/2 wasn't old enough for some rides or tall enough for others. Especially since she was used to Disney where there was plenty for her to do and ride. There is VERY little to do at Legoland in comparison to Disneyland. We have done it and our oldest son LOVED it but it is just. not. Disney. Didn't really care for Knott's as much...it's more of a "Sixflags". They do love Sea World and we thought the San Diego zoo was neat. We also enjoyed a free musem at Griffith Park in LA called Travel Town. My kids love trains and it was a fun little park for a morning and then we went to the LA zoo nearby.

i wasnt happy with seaworld in orlando
so that is why i was thinking of skipping it

I have to agree with Legoland and 2-yr-olds. My DD was 32" when we went, and got to ride a total of two rides that day. So, check HR carefully before choosing to go there.

Knott's was OK for my girls at 3 & 6, we didn't spend the whole day there, though (not enough to keep us busy). The best part was that my little one could ride the log ride with us (even though she would have been too short for Splash at that time).

My girls have always loved Sea World San Diego; unfortunately, we haven't been to its Orlando counterpart, so I can't compare.

We're putting off Universal until the girls are a bit older, so they won't freak out.

We found the San Diego Zoo to be a bit much for us when they were 2 & 5, but it was during Spring Break and very crowded, we had a wheelchair, stroller and an ECV with a weak battery in our group - and the zoo is very hilly. It just wasn't a great experience for us.

Maybe after some further review and those other activites don't pan out, you can add days your DL portion?

Have a fun time and happy planning!!

my 2 yr old is 34 inches & the 5 yr old is 45 inches
i agree about san diego zoo being hilly
what about the safari at the zoo
how is it that

We did a "Ride a double decker bus tour" around the San Deigo zoo and hated it. It was touted by everyone as THE thing to do and we just didn't like it. We were up high, couldn't really see the animals well and by the time it was over the animals were all asleep when we were walking past their exhibits. I have heard the Safari Park is better but we didn't do that one yet. Maybe this summer but we are mostly spending a week at DL since I have our kids are 9, 4 and 9months old.

Glad to see someone else agree about LEGOLAND. It was neat, there were fun aspects to it and it was better last year when DD was 3.5 but even then, there were things she had to be 4 to ride even when she met a height requirment. It was such a bad time I am very hesitant to reccomend it to anyone unless their kids are over 5.

We have done Sea World San Antonio and San Deigo but no Orlando so can't compare except to say we enjoyed both of those. There is a small area of rides in Sesame Place for little ones and our daughter loved those.
