Hi all! We have 3-day non-hoppers that we're going to upgrade when we go down in late September. Which would you do?

Option 1- Upgrade tickets to 5-days (cheaper option)
Option 2 - Upgrade tickets to 4-days and also do MNSSHP

We have never been to a ticketed event before. We have no kids- just DH and me. Staying at Boardwalk with a car and we have a special diet so we won't be trick-or-treating (though I know we can pick up allergy bags from guest services, so that might be an option for us). If you were us, what would you do?

If you have been to the parks many times before, I think I would lean towards the MNSSHP. It has a different parade and fireworks and we love the parade. You usually can get into the parade starting at 4 pm so it could be a rather long day if you stay until park closing that evening.

Why not do both? There is only a $30 difference between a four day and five day base ticket for two people. I find that we tend to spend more money on a day that we don't go to a park because we fill the time doing things that end up costing more. Once we planned to take a break from the parks, went to Downtown Disney and ended up putting out much more than $30 going to a movie, with snacks and bowling, with a couple drinks. At the parks the only money we use is for lunch/dinner. Our entertainment is "free".

Since you mentioned option 1 as being cheaper, here's an even cheaper option. I would keep the 3 day tickets I have, using them at AK, HS, and Epcot. Get tickets for MNSSHP and use that as your MK day; you can enter the park at 4pm for the party, even though the party doesn't start until 7. Make your FP+ reservations for 4:25, 5:25, and 6:25. We spent the "day" of the 4th day lazing around the pool, then had a late lunch (2pm) at The Wave before heading to MK for the party. Worked like a charm for us, and we didn't have to buy that 4th day ticket.

I personally would do option 3: upgrade to a 5 day ticket AND do MNSSHP :cool1: Option 3 costs only like $15 more per person than option 2.

Obviously option 1 is the least expensive, but MNSSHP is one of my favorite things to do in the park.
