I have purchased a 5 day ticket with PH and WPFM options. If I upgrade on the last day to a basic AP does the entire purchase price get applied or the base ticket price only minus the options. Thanks

If you use one of the water park & more options, you can only upgrade to a PAP. They will apply the full price. They are supposed to backdate it to the first use of the MYW but some have reported they haven't been doing that.

If you upgrade it on the last day, you should do so before you use that last day!

If you ONLY want to visit a WATER PARK one (or more) times (no Disney Quest or Golf Options,)
then it would benefit you to NOT USE any of the WP options on your current 5-day ticket.

Instead, just use your current ticket to enter one of the THEME PARKS, and THEN upgrade to a Base (Tourist) AP.

At the same time, buy a Water Park AP for $104 (or a single day Water Park ticket for $53 -if that's all you want-)
and use that separate Water Park ticket for WP purposes.

That way you won't have to pay for a full Premium AP... if you don't need all of its features for a year.

If you go to the locked sticky Everything About WDW Tickets in this Forum, especially Post #7, you can get a lot more information. An easy way to get to the sticky is by clicking on the link in my signature. The ticket sticky is your friend!

This is what I'm thinking. We are thinking of only going to WP 1 day. So would be much better deal to by a ticket for the WP

Why? We have MB and wanted to upgrade the last day so we could use the MB or are the putting AP on MB now.

Schmeck is referencing a rule that says that a ticket cannot be upgraded
on a day AFTER all of its assets have been used up (even if it's still within the 14-day window.)

But, that rule does not apply to guests staying at a WDW resort.
Since you have a MagicBand (at this time) it means that you ARE staying at a WDW resort (because they are only issuing MB to resort guests at this time)
so you don't have to worry about that rule.

OTOH-
Yes, you CAN put an AP on an MagicBand, so you don't need to
wait until the end of your trip to do the upgrade.
(But, you COULD, if you wanted to.)

Is that true for having separate tickets/room key? Or do they have to be combined?

The point of the rule is stop unlawful resellers from buying "generic" tickets
(tickets without guests' names on them, printed by Disney) from guests,
and then reselling those tickets to other guests.
