Tickets through entertainment card

I just saw a discount deal if you have an Entertainment card.... 5 day hopper pass for the price of a 3 day pass. Is there any reason NOT to do this rather than buying through Disney? What if prices increase before our trip? Will we have to pay the difference? Can our tickets still be linked to our room reservation and magic bands?

I don't know what an 'entertainment card' is in this context. That said, if you buy legit MYW tickets from a discounted 3rd party seller, they'll be good indefinitely until they're used, regardless of any price increases. They SHOULD also be eligible for price bridging and upgrades once you actually start using them, unless you somehow end up with some special type of ticket that can't be modified, like a sports/convention/event/etc ticket.

If you're given a Disney confirmation number (generally 4 letters followed by a string of numbers) or if you get the actual 12-digit numbers from the back of the hard ticket cards, you'll be able to link them to MDE. The former is more likely if you request "will call" or "e-ticket" delivery. If you request tickets mailed to your home, you'll probably have to wait until they actually show up to get the 12-digit numbers off the backs.

This Entertainment card comes in a book sold primarily as a fundraiser for schools, etc... If we qualified for free dining down the road, would we still be eligible even though we didn't buy them direct from Disney? (I am thinking you have to have a room/ticket combo to get this promo?)

Free Dining promotions do usually require a package with tickets. In that scenario, you could opt to purchase a second set of tickets and then save them for a future trip if you wanted to.
