Tickets/Pass Special Deals

I posted this yesterday on the wrong board - meant for budget board.

Would it be a good idea if there was an area where we were able to put current specials related to tickets & passes. I have been seeing orbitz and travelocity discount codes, and target deals where you purchase with their card to get a 5% discount. Here's one with AAA right now through the end of June, 2013.

Buy 2 annual passes to save $50.00.
This is the special in Georgia right now - found out about this yesterday.

I know at the end of last year AAA Georgia had a special buy 3 tickets get an additional one free (this was also allowed on an annual pass - which is a great way to save for a family of 4). So wish this would happen again this year but who knows.

Sometimes grocery stores have specials on their gift cards - like $10.00 off $25.00 gift card which was at Save-A-Lot recently on Barnes & Noble, Itunes, Home Depot. Unfortunately, disney wasn't one of them but sometimes the stores listed do sell other gift cards and with a little research that retailer just may sell disney gift cards. It would be more than a one-step process but sometimes to save a percentage off is worth it when buying multiple tickets.

Anybody else have current specials or specials companies usually promote at certain times?

I think that it would be difficult to keep current, especially in light of the fact that there isn't an active moderator on this board to shoulder the burden.

I just thought we have all sorts of threads with code watches on theme park board and pin watches -- why not have a main thread with current specials.

Maybe it could be something like:

January (whichever month) Specials - Anybody find a code that can be used in January - post it to one thread instead of so many others.

Like the AAA special is just for June right now and if they decide to promote something for July any of us looking for the possible discount could come look at one main thread (doesn't need to be this one actually).

It would also be a way to look at what historically has been offered and when they became available instead of doing a search and have lots of different threads show up. I would love for anybody to post specials. I know when I start looking at purchasing tickets since it is a major expense for us (family of 6) I am looking for my best value be it with an offer off-line or on-line.

Code and pin "watching" threads are on a special subforum of the Resorts Board where they can be easily followed. There is no "Disney-only" subforum on the Budget Board. It has been brought up many times and the consensus is that the majority are not interested in one.

However, there is no reason why you or any other member could not start a monthly "ticket specials" thread. If it catches on, great. If it doesn't, it will die out eventually.

BTW, AAA offices are regional and while your region might be running the aforementioned ticket special, other regions are not.
