We were given tickets for a 1 day hopper pass to replace the day we missed due to Hurricane Jeanne in 2004. They were good for I believe 10 years from the date they were given. Anyway, does anyone know if these can still be used? I'm about to order our tickets and it'll save us some money if we can use them!

Anyone know?

we have tix leftover from hurricane frances in '04... ours are good for 20 years... we used some of them in january and plan to use the rest in september... cannot imagine why they would not be "good" as long as it's not been 10 or 20 years, kwim?

also, i don't know what your ticket purchase plan is, but we found it to be more cost effective if we use them all for the same person and buy the rest of the party upgraded tickets, rather than each use one hurricane day... i don't know the numbers, but it's much cheaper to add a day to say a 5 day ticket than it is to buy another 5 day ticket for the rest of the family... i hope i am explaining this right...

i.e. we are buying 4 one day base tickets... dh will use the four hurricane days and dd/ds/i will each upgrade our base tickets to 5 day tickets... otherwise we'd all four have to upgrade to 4 day tickets and each use a hurricane day... it's cheaper to bump up 3 tix to 5 dayers than 4 tix to 4 dayers... kwim?

It's less then 10 years use them.

Ummm, not trying to be a smart booty, but if they are good for 10 years and you got them in 2004, that tells me you have 8 years left.

that would be correct Luv2C... i'm not sure why the op was concerned that they would no longer be good... possibly because at the time they were issued, the ticketing system was a bit different and has since converted to MYW ticketing...

They will work completely fine. I helped hand out some of those tickets - and you are correct, they should be good for 10 years past the issue date. :)

just curious... were all hurricane tix given a 10yr expiry 'cause i am 100% certain that ours were 20 years... simply 'cause we joked we could use 'em after all the kids were finished w/college in 2024!

Not trying to be a smart booty either but I'm perfectly capable of doing the math. The reason I asked is because someone else who was there at the same time (and also goes on this board) mentioned to me that there was some discussion if they were still able to be used or not due to some ticket changes.

Thanks to all who answered my question.

:wizard: We also received tickets due to Hurricane Jeanne and were told that they were good for 20 years. They were all also adult tickets because my DD was almost 5 at the time but depending on when she used hers, she may be an adult at that point. :thumbsup2 Rebecca

We got those tickets and ours has the expiration date of 2014 on them. I guess not all of them had the date on them.

We received a ticket for the day the parks closed down due to hurricane Charley. We used the tickets last December, worked fine - no problems!

Also, meant to say ours were park hopper's. We had park hopper's before on the hurricane Charley trip, so I don't know if that had anything to do with it or not.

Is it cheaper to buy one day tickets and upgrade them to 5-day tickets or just buy 5-day tickets? I'm confused. :confused3

Don't know why the OP would not just buy 5-day tickets?

because if you have tickets sitting in your drawer, why NOT use them? and like i suggested above, we're planning to use them all for two people 'cause it seems cheaper to upgrade two of us a lot than upgrade four of us a little...

oh, and i looked at our hurricane tix and they have an expiry of 9/6/2024 and there is no name on them so they can be used by anyone...

You misunderstood the question. I completely understand why you would want to use the hurricane tickets for one person, I understand why this would be cost effective.

What I don't get is buying the rest of your party one-day tickets and upgrading them to 5-day tickets. Why not buy the rest of your party 5-day tickets. Why are you going through the hassle of buying one day tickets with the intention of upgrading them?

Or are you not buying one day tickets, do you have one day left over on the old passes in addition to the hurricane pass?

because if you are doing a package (incl room, tix, dining), everyone has to start w/the same components (i.e. 1 day tix, 5 day tix, whatever number you pick, but all people on the ressie MUST be "equal" at booking)... but then some can be upgraded as necessary...

OkAAAAY.......

That makes perfect sense. I didn't know you could do that. That is a great idea. So can you upgrade your tickets at check in? Or do you have to go to guest services at the park?

i believe you can upgrade them at the resort... or at least i hope so!

BUT! We were upgrading to AP's. We also came in a day early, stayed off property, but went to the resort and found that we could break the ticket portion out of our package at Guest Relations. So we went to GR at EPCOT, broke the tickets out of the MYW package and upgraded them to AP's.

I don't know if this info is helpful or confusing... :goodvibes
