Tickets from FD-?

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask...we had to buy 2 day tics for the FD offer like everyone else. Can they only be used at renewal or can we use to upgrade existing ap? are planning on adding the DQ and waterparks this trip so I thought I would ask.
Also, do I just ask at checkin for the hard tickets to be seperate and not on my KTTW?
