The idea of so many ticket options for DVC members is getting very confusing to me. Do DVC members get a better rate than purchasing from a discount retailer? I am so confused as to what the best option for us would be. We are planning a trip in Jan. and will purchase a 6 day ticket for this trip. After that we will go with APs but I am still uncertain where the best options are. We are new to DVC and have not recieved our member packet as of yet so I do not know the discount rate for members.

For non-annual passes, you can do better at a discount vendor (undercovertourist, ticketmania) than through Disney. DVC members only receive discounts on annual passes at this time.

As you are looking at prices, make sure you are looking at prices with all taxes and fees. The last time I compared prices, Disney's prices did not include tax. Undercovertourist did include tax and shipping. At that time Undercovertourist was the best way for me to go.

I am subscribed to dvcnews.com which often has links to undercovertourist which offers additional discounts.

Is it a big discount. I thought the last time I looked it was about $4 per ticket.

Looking at UCT a 7 day (6 days with one day free) is 228.95 total.
disneyworld.com for a 6 day is 239.63 total (I assume shipping is free when ordering from there?).

That's a nice little discount, IMO, especially if you're buying tix for more than one person.

Do they sell 8 day tickets or is 7 as high as they go.

They sell tickets good for 3, 4, 5, 7, 8 or 10 days. They also sell no-expire tickets which are good until you use up your 10-days - we're still using our 10-day no-expire tickets that we bought in 2005. Expiring tickets expire within 14 days of first use.

UCT has good deals on tickets. I've used them several times. The last time I bought 6 day expiring hoppers and we upgraded them at Epcot on our last day to 10 day non-expiring hoppers. The CM at the ticket office said, "Wow! You got a great deal on these tickets!" They can see what you originally paid for the tickets regardless of where you bought them.

Yes, I did! :cool1:

I just finished looking at several options for tickets and went with UCT. They by far had the best deals. The others looked good until you added tax and shipping then they were well above the UCT.We got 4 adult 6 day hoppers for $1099. The closest thing to it was 1139 from Disney itself. Thanks for all the great info.
